Seems to be working fine for me so I think it's more of a precaution than anything. The instructions don't say it either, so I'll do me and you do you

Sure thing man. Just realize there are other people besides me that have been here since the early tune days that would agree to go by why the creator recommends when it comes to tuning. He did say wait and let idle 10 mins with all the previous tunes. It’s back a few hundred pages somewhere. Your truck

I think Mat also said if you don't let it warm up the first start, it will eventually even out.

Fair enough, but if you listen to the engine during that idle you can hear it change several times as the idle learning settles.

It’ll eventually figure itself out. It just figures it out faster if you idle it after flashing.

Well after driving home I can say I'm pretty content with the truck. Easy to keep it at 60 to 65 with quick downshift on steeper hills while smaller hills no longer require a down shift. There's one hill here in particular that I always hated because it never could figure out what to do(it is like 3/4 of a mile long and has traffic) and would constantly shift up and down and I would have to modulate the pedal to get it to go. That's not the case anymore. Even on the 87 tune it has more torque down low which gives it just enough to where it's no longer an issue on that hill. It didn't even need to shift down. Same thing in the driveway. It was usually in second when I went to flip a u and back in. It sticks there and doesn't lurch forward from needing to shift down now.

This. I have worked on too many older fuel injection cars to worry about it. It'll learn its own idle for the most part

So I'm curious. I've seen lots of folks mention they are running 87 or 91 octane + the associated map. I run 93 and intend to run the 93 map. Why is no one else doing it? Gas too expensive? Something else?

I run the 87 map and whatever the best fuel is I can get. There are a lot of areas I can’t get better than 87 and I’m not going to take my laptop with me everywhere to flash back and forth.

I can't afford 93, if I could even find it here in CO :D

No difference in performance between 87 and 91 tune on my truck. Why pay more in gas for the same thing?

Stock truck here. I could certainly feel the difference running 1.04A 91. For some reason, 1.04R 91 does not have the same giddy up on my rig.

Many people have said the same thing, just gets washed out by instant deniers as yourself. I have emailed about the issue and it is known, and I was told it will be fixed with 1.05

93 is a little spendy as a daily driver. 91 was ok considering it’s about $5-$6 more per fill up. I run 87 daily though.
