Mat gave a disclaimer in the email that the throttle is much more responsive :D Only good things can come of that warning.

This is what the tune is about for me. better throttle. Im not in it for the power, just improvement on throttle response and shifting. Im hoping that the power kick in at 4k is spread out better too so i feel more around 2500

You already can feel more power around 2500 if you have any version of the tune from 1.03 through 1.04R

Edit* I do suppose that AT vs MT matters for this comment, since I remember Mat mentioning early this year that approx. 1500rpm on the AT is roughly equivalent to 2200 or so for the MT

true but it still feels like something changes in the electronics that "opens" up the full power of the truck around 4k rpms
    im running 1.04

I added an edit to my original comment.

What you're feeling is at about 3500rpm and is the vvti actuation. That kick in the ass out of nowhere

I think this is a fair assessment. 1.04R made my truck tolerable (for a few years at least)...but it's not perfect by any means.

@OVTune one annoying thing that my truck still does on 1.04R that I'm confident you can fix (and I hope is fixed in 1.05) is the following scenerio:

I'm commuting in the suburbs on the edge of the city. It's early AM (6:15) so there is not a ton of traffic and I'm in no rush. I leave a stoplight and give the truck just the right amount of throttle to accelerate casually, but purposefully up to the 45 MPH speed limit on this road. I'm holding the accelerator steady as the truck accelerates...but then, without me changing the pressure on the gas pedal, it jumps up a gear which lowers the RPM so much, that I'm no longer accelerating. I literally have to give it significantly more throttle....and when I do, it drops down a gear and is accelerating significantly harder than I want it to...it is maddening. The highway dance (6-5-4-5-4-6-5-4-6) used to be the most annoying thing on this truck, but with 1.04A that was improved enough (though could still use improvement :)) that this city behavior is now the most annoying thing. @acemastr light report on improved torque down low in 1.05 has me thinking this will be at least somewhat improved...

    :fingerscrossed:

I just want to quickly point out that I doubt 1.04R made your truck tolerable for a few years considering that the map has barely been available for even a month.

Cheers, and here's to the forthcoming 1.05

I think he means he'd be happy with it for a few years, it will tide him over.

You have inferred my comment was referring to the past, when obviously my implication was for the future...

If it were obvious, my comment would not have been made. Just in case you were hoping for a discussion on grammar and word play. Lol sorry for being a dick though, I'm only halfway through my first cup of coffee. I'm sure you understand

It was obvious for those whose deductive reasoning area of their brain is moving faster than their keyboard fingers...maybe you should limit your keyboard use to after your first cup of coffee and stop it after your 5th...

Can I get a grandpa button to adjust throttle response for days when I don’t want to send it?

That’s what the handheld is for, drop from the 93/91 tune to the 87

Lol 1.03b was bananas on the 87 tune

Contrary to popular belief, the truck can still make plenty of power down low with the 87 tunes

Waiting for someone to ask how you sent this message if you can't send emails. Lol. Be safe man. Nasty weather coming through the southeast today. We had Florence rip through here not too long ago.
