    Had my first hiccup toady.
1500-2000 rpm at about 40 mph in 4th gear. There was a slight uphill and as I went to give it throttle, the truck hesitated, much like it did on factory tune. I was able to replicate it a few times. Very had that happen before on any file that I can remember. I am on 1.04R 91 file 91 gas.

I figure I've been running the new tsb for several months now. I'll rock 1.04r for a while till 1.05 drops.

I was fine with the new tsb till it started the learning crap. Now it sucks again. Pulling a slight long grade today down shifted to 4th

Would disconnecting the negative do anything, or is the "learning" stored more permanently somewhere else?

That should force it to relearn much like reflashing the stock tune would do. Or any tune that still has learning

To everyone grumbling about the tune learning its bad ways again... 7000 miles on 1.04, just drove 400 miles through the mountains. Drove the same as it did when I originally tuned it.. Held 6th or 5th on the climbs, only saw 4th on steep grades. :notsure:

I've been on 1.04R 91 (04A71) for just over an month and 2k miles and noticed that the tune was not driving nearly as good as the month prior. So I reflashed yesterday and it drove completely different today. This tune is defiantly learning/settling in(degrading) over time. My experience was completely different with 1.04A, it got better with time/mileage. Maybe the TSB added some learning back in somehow. looking forward to 1.05

Hmm, last checked here on Saturday over 500 posts since then. I see Matt is still testing 1.05 so I'll check back in a few days. :hattip:

It has a slight choke point where it vibrates and lags a bit for me everyday at the same spot if I’m not giving it gas ahead of time. Feels almost like misfires or not enough fuel getting in

One of these has to be true

    1) the manual doesn’t learn
    2) I drive so much I don’t notice
    3) people drive very little or infrequently and forget how the truck drives and assume it learned
    4) people just like to complain
    5) people are confusing the initial calibration and learning
    6) the truck is affected by another variable (temperature, fuel, etc) and performs different and learning is blamed
    7) learning actually still exists

I’m sure once 1.05 drops people will still find something to complain about. Probably that custom tuning is too complicated for their expo af rig and a generic tune should be fine because <insert claimed knowledge here>

My truck has gotten better with every iteration. I’ve said before I’ve got no idea how the next revision will be better but each time it’s happened.

Previously having owned an auto I have no doubt figuring out that crazy transmission is in no way an easy fix, especially with all the variables to account for. Deciphering someone else’s code is typically a nightmare.
