Wouldn't it be funny with all the jokes about how long it will take for the tune to come out, if Mat waited to release it after the new year.

Here's some food for thought. Mat asked for a bunch of different trucks to test 1.05 (stock, bigger tires, armor, etc.). Is it possible he is making 3 or 4 different tune files based on added weight and tire size? Similar to the different files back on 1.02. So if you have a stock truck you flash 1.05a, bigger tires 1.05b, and so on.

    In progress.... And getting better!
:facepalm:Not a bad thought. Of course that’s what the custom tune is all about.

How is the throttle response with the tune so far? Test drove a Tundra for the lols and yeah it's night and day, even further when using tow haul mode.

Can I come close to that kind of response with 1.04R or the upcoming 1.05?

I'm on 1.04a and throttle response is just what you would expect out of a midsized truck.. if you're after v8 power a tune won't help, but even with the tune in it's current form, the truck drives night and day better than stock.

I do not expect v8 power of course, it's mostly the throttle delay that's annoying.

I have the tsb and it's good for the most part but have seen some tuned users comparing it the older ovtune versions which is why I am wondering specifically how does the throttle response compare.

This is most likely the best plan for Matt . There are just enough problem trucks to cause dissatisfaction with any one tune fits all trucks to start with . It would cut down on the initial rush of requests for custom tunes . I cannot imagine getting hundreds of requests all at once , and trying to keep the masses happy at the same time.

Are you currently running a tune now? If so, what about the truck are you still not satisfied with?

I'm in for the haul till Mat lets out this 1.05 release and twin turbo setup. I've swapped too many trucks because of quirks. :annoyed:

This exact same transmission is in some diesel trucks in other markets so it should be plenty strong. Haven't heard of any transmission failures or issues other than shitty programming. That old Chevy will probably eat a handful of transmissions before the Tacoma will eat one.

Somebody could probably sue the governor for misappropriating state funds because the costs should have been mapped out from the beginning much more effectively than they clearly were. That, if not outright fraud if there is some proof that he would have known how expensive it would be to implement but tried it anyway to make a legacy for himself in the ground or whatever. Just thinking out loud though lol

LOL I doubt it. I haven't felt this transmission slip, where the tacoma would flare and shit. I will miss the tacoma, but the incoming problems I don't want to be around for. Too expensive to fix and it isn't worth the extra price for such a shit driving experience.
