I towed 2,000lbs errr so this weekend to the Deschutes and back and got 14.5mpgs. One whole tank of gas and went 318miles. Up and over a mountain and back. Running 1.04 OVTuned. I think you would appreciate the tune. I thought it performed well and it makes the truck fun to drive. Remember these trucks like 3000 rpms it’s a Lexus hi end car engine

...oh and since your name has trout addict under it...

This was the result of this weekend.

People who want their truck to behave like another model should probably just go buy that particular model. Much more realistic to have your current 3GT and then have the tune improve it some way, because its behavior is clearly unique and people will always gripe about some aspect of it, even when custom tuning comes out. Choose one side of the fence: tuned 3GT that feels however it feels once you're happy with it, or go and buy the vehicle that you keep wishing it would be like

The whole concept from the start was crap. Literally an expensive train that doesn't go to cities that would make it useful.

Question - Does the 87 Octane tune map have the same effect on shifting as the 91 Map? The difference being the Torque/HP gains on 91?

    Thanks!

Now to decide between the Handheld and Custom Tuning Option. I don't own a Windows Laptop ( I do have a MAC), that being sad the handheld option just seems like it would be easier to navigate. Its tough to say, given that no one has the handheld option yet, if I would be missing out on performance giving basic modifications to my Tacoma (Lift, Bigger Tire, Borla Muffler, Filter, Intake Flow Accelerator, Etc) from going to the custom tune route?

I think the BIGGEST factor is that I live at 3,500 Feet and frequently travel higher into the mountains, which is the real killer! Would the custom consider this?
