Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

I was willing to wait just like the rest of you slobs, but the lack of info was just...

I just flashed my first OVTune on my truck. 1.04r. What a difference. I'm amazed.

 

I can afford to wait, my truck likes 1.04R. And all of the ones that came before. Lol

Matt If you need more trucks, mine is stock except a camper shell. I have access to 93 but will run what ever you need tested the most. I pretty much live at sea level as well. Oh and I'm on 04B04.

I'm pretty much certain he did this to shut me up

 

Been on vacation and now paying for it at work... but so far testing on 1.05 has been great overall. Throttle, lockup, acceleration (merging into traffic ridiculously improved) and smoother power delivery throughout (no 3500 surge).

Biggest things imho that’s taking time is recalibrating the shifting around the massive changes that went into the TSB. This is the trial and error bit that takes testing and feedback loops across multiple trucks to dial in given the stupid level of complexity driving those tables.

Can also tell the additional power bump from 91 to 93 with the incremental advance.

Looking forward to further testing - it’s getting closer, but I appreciate @OVTune wanting it to be perfect and we’ll continue testing to get it there!

 

I know I just came to be ovtuned today. But if u want someone going from stock to 1.05 to review it I'm interested. I've only ran 1.04 for 10 miles.

 

Not sure if you can spill any info on this, but just got done driving 1500 miles over the weekend and my biggest gripe is when on an incline, just a touch more throttle would be needed in 5th to hold speed, but then it downshifts to 4th and revs to high hell, and it just overshoots the speed I was trying to hold.. has this been corrected now that OV has control over the throttle angle in 5th and 6th?

 

Hope this means 04B03 DOES NOT have these issues? Otherwise it is AHFAUQ, and still waiting! Guess us dongel-less stepchildren will just have to take a pill and shut the F'up until told otherwise. Thanks to the dongle holders (aka hand crampers) on testing and provide tid bits of what is to come.
