I really don't understand some dealers, I called 3 different ones in my area. All of them told me "we have to have our service manager to test drive your vehicle to replicate the issue you claim to be experiencing, if we cannot replicate it then we will not perform the TSB".

Why does someone need to complain to get the latest software update from Toyota? Just give me the god damn thing it's covered under warranty! Anyhow the 4th dealer I called finally said bring it in we'll do it no questions asked free of charge however it's a 2 hour drive. I don't know about you guys but I wouldn't want some random guy doing WOT take off bagging my brand new 2018 just to test if TSB-0062-18 is applicable for the stumble condition, no thank you.

On the way home it felt like it's shifting differently, which leads me to believe they actually did it. But I do want to verify. I installed techstream version 12.20.024. Do I need to download a specific driver for the tactrix cable? Would you mind telling me the steps to check for an update? Also, isn't there a setting I have to change in order to connect to the truck ? Thanks

I found a flash drive with all my software! Does this mean I'm up to date with the TSB? Thanks20181017_164205.jpg

Is there a way to see what software and tsb's I have with an OBD2 scan tool? I've had mine in for 2 tsb's but there are no stickers under hood.

    Thanks

    Yep, 04B04

They didn’t put a sticker under my hood when they updated me from 04B01 to 04B03.

They aren’t going to put a sticker under your hood for a tsb. You also aren’t going to see if you have a tsb with a scan tool. A tsb is a technical service bulletin, basically means it’s a service thing that Toyota says they have a solution for a common issue

Thanks! Stickers are only for recalls.

I got a sticker both times my Ecu/TCU was updated and it’s stated in the TSB that the technician should do it.

Thanks, just trying to make sure I have the right calibration for the handheld unit. Requires OB402 or higher. OB400 and OB401 not supported. Nothing on my service writes up. Each time just states TSB rev1 or 0058 were performed. Thanks tho

You're a '17 so chances are that you already started off at 4B02 but Rev 1 would set it to 4B03 and 58 would put it at 4B04
    4B00 and 01 were only on '16s

I had been planning on designating a "cheap" laptop or tablet to tune/general truck duty, but after looking around a little bit, I think I'm going to just go with the handheld. Smaller, easier power requirements (although at least a few of our tacos have an outlet in the bed, so that wasn't a main concern), and hopefully more reliability than the stuff that was in my price range, under $300. Mainly just want the ability to change octane tunes if I end up somewhere with a limited selection. Just gives me peace of mind that I won't be "stranded" somewhere... at least this way it probably won't due to the tune anyhow, lol.

I've seen 04B04 and such mentioned here quite a bit. Got my 18' at the end of July, and don't really know how to interpret this:

    Calibration: 8966304A6000
    Calibration file: 89663-04A60
    Part Number: 89661-04K20

So do I have an older file than 04B? I would think so, A B C etc., but all of this is completely new to me.

You have an '18. In '18 the changed the numbering system to account for the crash sensing crap that is written into the ECU.
'16 and '17 were the 4B00-4B04 series and '18 started at A600 and now A610

For $800 is this worth it? It would be the most I've paid for a tune besides custom race work

    LOL, WTAF does this mean?
