I'm spreading the rumor that you have to visit Mat in person to get each update. Bring coffee.

Thank you! My understanding is that 1.05 will incorporate the TSB into the update. Am I wrong in this? I tried to have the TSB done onetime but my local dealership is is worthless.

So....thinking ahead. Assuming 1.05 is the last general tune, with custom being the only updates going forward. What happens if Toyota decides to update ECUs and we have a conscientious dealer that performs the update thus wiping out 1.05. We might be in a situation akin to the 1.04/1.04r tune situation now where reapplying 1.05 might not be possible.

Am I making sense? If not, blame it on the few beers I’ve had :)

Mat would likely develop a 1.06 to meet the resulting demand for/from his customers and not leave us SOL.

Agreed, I hope so...and based on his dedication to the platform and his customers, I think he would.

The update will be posted here and a link to the new File Manager will be added to the original post/Post 1. Download the file manager and then you can download the Tune/Octane version you want.

If you ordered the handheld you don't need to worry about any of that it's plug and play just follow the instructions. Page one of this thread from Mat states the following:

"Handheld - general information: Handheld tuners will connect to your OBDII port and read your ECU. After they have collected the data they will be locked to your truck. If you have our kit(s) dongle or dongle-less, when you receive your handheld you MUST FIRST FLASH BACK TO STOCK before using the handheld.

Handheld - New customers: The handheld is a touchscreen portable device for reading and flashing your vehicle ECU with our tune. The handhelds will come pre-loaded with tune files for every ECU version that we have in our database. So that means you plug in, read your ECU, the handheld will generate matched tune files to your ECU, you select and you flash. A computer is not required for this process.
It is HIGHLY recommended for customers with older trucks (early 2016) that you get the TSB flash before trying to tune with the handheld. Our handheld tuner will NOT support ECU versions earlier than 04B02. (04B00, 04B01 NOT supported).
The handheld features include : Reading and clearing DTC, ECU live data display (PID data) and custom programmable gauge display with warnings. (for example if your engine temp gets hot you can have a gauge show you)."

31 Oct 2019, just to be safe. Leaves plenty of time for Mat to relax and enjoy his coffee too.
