I installed the first tune and then I actually saw a decrease from 16. Consistent 16 mpg to installing 1.01B getting 18.5...

I posted some pretty useful Dyno graphs from the first set of Dyno tests.

So I realize that this involves extensive testing/customization but how will the performance improvements compare to that seen a device s/a the sprint booster which is a fraction of the price?

Devices such as these simply amplify the throttle signal coming from the gas pedal, masking delay (fixes the symptom, but you lose some gas pedal fine control or resolution). The tune changes the programming of the ECM, eliminating or greatly reducing the delay (fixes the root cause). Also, there's no way you're going to get increased power/torque from a throttle amplifier. Anyone else take a stab?

Edit: Also, automatic transmission issues can be addressed directly with the tune, along with an array of other enhancements. The SB/PC can't do any of that.

Hell, just read the first post of this thread...

Does anyone know how this works if purchased second hand? Is the lisence transferable?
Obvisouly the old vehicle will have to flash back to stock, then I would re-scan my ECU and sent Matt the new file?
    Thanks guys

When I asked him, outside of here, he said, it's around $350 and you
    could re-use the hardware.

That 350 is if you wanted to update the ECU on a 2nd vehicle with 1 set of hardware. I dont believe he has mentioned anything about what happens on a sale of the hardware and what not yet.

    Sure thing dude.

My question was - "what if I traded my truck with the tune and
wanted to get the tune for another Taco".... that was the reply.

@OVTune there is someone selling one of your tunes in the marketplace because he sold his truck. How would that work if someone was to buy it?

The kit can be sold or shared. The file is licensed to the ECU.
The person who receives the kit will just need to purchase a licensed calibration from us (which will include datalogger in the price)

starting the process of getting these kits out, people should be getting their tracking numbers throughout the day

I have a related question. My Tacoma is a lease and in the event I trade it toward another one I would remove the tune and want to tune the new one. I assume there would be some type of transfer fee? It's a little different though as I would still be the original owner/purchaser.

yep so in your case you would still retain your datalog license (when released) so it would be $305 to license and tune a new truck you own

I'm in the same boat being a lease owner. Something to consider is the possibility Toyota may completely change their software by the time you're ready to exchange your lease and there may not be a tune available. I'd personally advise against messing with a lease. Who knows what the 2019/2020 will bring.
