Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

the only real & valid motor-specific complaint with this truck now, in my opinion, is the lack of bottom end like you'll get from more displacement. i would love that, but i can't swap motors at this point. so, no complaints at all. if you can deal with a NA 3.5 v6 in a truck, then get it. and add the tune cost and enjoy.

still can't comment on the AT shifting and stuff. just talking motor here.

Well I was order 1863 and I'm glad I did it as will. Couple weeks of running with the tune and I have no regrets. I'd buy it again.

@OVTune, does mine come with the new dongle case you mentioned earlier? I'm assuming mine comes with 1.01B tune?

 

They don't come preloaded with the tune, you read your ECU and send it to him and wait for him to send you the new tune which should be 1.01B unless he releases 1.02 by then

Duh, I forgot about that. Makes sense, that way he can send you the right tune file.

This is what I have been waiting to hear from OVTune that the learning mode can be turned off and be consistent. I'll do the learning and driving and just let the truck do what I tell it to. This is a play truck for me so it may stay parked for a week or more, so if it tries to learn how I drive it will take years. So 1 mode will work for me!
