Maybe the mpg number increases are due to using 91 octane and less pedal

I just read the last few posts until I saw yours. I came back to remind everyone that was previously running 87 that is now running 91 or 93 that a few MPG bump is to be expected. I only gained 1-2MPG with Tune + 93 instead of 87. I'm patiently awaiting the 87 tune so I can go back to $0.30 cheaper gas. I'm fine with the slight decrease in power. It's not a racecar.

@OVTune seems like several have noticed the shifting learning in a way we thought was changed. Is there an easy fix for this other than reflashing repeatedly?

I've been running 91 since about 3000 miles and noticed and MPG increase since the tune. Almost 12k now.

Higher octane does not necessarily mean there is less ethanol...

Typically if you want ethanol free gasoline you have to get the higher octane grades.

In the states even the high octane has ethanol.
In NY, when i see 91 at a pump it is no ethanol, but when i see 93 it has ethanol. 93 w/E is also cheaper than 91....

Up here I have never seen 91+ with ethanol...

Is there plan for an 87 octane tune or if you go this route are you stuck getting 91/93 octane?

Matt @OVTune has stated previously that all that purchase the tune will get both the 91+ and 87 tunes. The 87 tune is not complete (yet). I'll happily pay for 91/93 to be able to keep his tune instead of stock. Drive-ability improvements alone make it worth it to me. I just don't drive in a way that makes the higher cost of filling my tank worthwhile (to me).

Depends on where in the country you are and who the station/company/corporation decided to purchase fuel from for that delivery. in general you are correct. Some states have exemptions for "premium" gasoline that allow zero ethanol. That is however the exception unfortunately. I'm fairly certain that up here we don't have that exception. So, paying $0.30 more for a gallon of 93 over 87 makes even less sense unless the high compression or turbo engine requires it. In a pickup that I don't drive balls-to-the-walls 100% of the time, it makes absolutely no sense.

Agree with that. Here 92 with ethanol is .30 more and ethanol free is $1.00 more per gallon. Will wait for 87 tune. Only lose couple hp/tq vs the 92 tune but get all the other benefits.
