Love this set up. My wife’s TSX auto trans in S mode is set up exactly like this and I wish my Tacoma was too. Looks like it will now! Even more excited for 1.05!! Nice job Mat.

Not gonna lie; I miss the DSG transmission in my old Jetta.

 

Wow yeah I had a 7 speed DSG in my S5.

Incredible. It’s so much better than a manual and crappy torque converter auto.

 

Or those who had to have a long bed with no MT available.
Without the accumulator mod, I hear the MT feels like a slush box too
It’s just nice to have an option that’s not controlled by Toyota brains. My auto BMW never caused my any grief.

Please forgive me and correct me if I'm wrong but I thought these are not free updates? Isn't 1.05 supposed to be the final finished product because the versions before it were as you say were not perfect? Or was 1.02 the finished product and all the ones following are free updates? To my understanding those previous versions were Alpha releases or no? I only discovered this tune after 1.04 so I'm not 100% sure.

I think Apple does give free updates, I get them on my MacBook all the time and on my Android phone I receive free updates as well just like I would get free TSBs from Toyota unless you're speaking of an actual device upgrade like from iPhone 8 to iPhone X then no that would definitely not be free and Toyota wouldn't upgrade me to a brand new 2019 for free either. So if we paid something like $770 USD for this product I mean the updates are to improve and work out bugs/issues correct? It would be strange if we had to pay additional for those updates when it isn't a finished product in the first place so I mean they should essentially be free because I don't think comparing this to Apple or Tesla like the others have is a fair comparison. I think the difference is that one is a finished product and OVTune is not and if it were finished then there wouldn't be all the back and forth testing.

People pre-paid for an unfinished product which they believe in and it was a start up project since you said this would not have been possible w/o the first generation of dongle users and that is true because look how far OVTune has come today for the Tacoma!

 

Hope the gear lock feature is standard and goes up to at least 5th gear. I can live without 6th gear going up hills, but 5th is still useful.
