Hey I’m still running on factory tune and awaiting for this dust to settle. I’m afraid for the next news to be a letter from Matt that he had filed for bankruptcy.

I hear you, but I think it's money well spent. Makes the truck so much better to drive. I think you'd agree.

Geez, 3 pages of OVTune development... .
Developing complaints. The 4-5 people, out of hundreds, that complain should start a separate thread and leave this one to talk about the actual development of the tune.
But it's TW, and i still love it.
Complain away, it's entertaining. We all do it at some point.

I don't think you're hearing it the right way, I don't think it should resort to a refund. I believe in the product and it hasn't been delivered and as I've mentioned before there are no other viable options besides OVTune on the market so unless I want to keep driving it stock I have no where else to go which sort of makes it more frustrating. The other options are dog shit and this product has overwhelmingly positive reviews besides the customer service part. OVTune actually made a post previously about how his new goal is to focus on customer care, unfortunately I just don't see that and I fail to take "I'm too busy" as an excuse. If he is too busy maybe he should hire someone for the sales/customer service part and he could stick to the tuning part which is what he does best.

My original purchase date was August 4th before I upgraded to the handheld + handheld data logger on Oct 10th. I'm still fighting to even get the correct tracking # from the guy because the one he provided me was shipped to an address on the other side of the country. I don't know where my cable is and it's been a week with 20+ email exchanges between OVTune and still no tracking #. This is just one of the issues I'm experiencing, if his website had some sort system where someone could help me out or if he would actually provide me with a solution through the proper channels I wouldn't be on here trying to get his attention. He finally emailed me back after he saw my post on TW so do I really have to sort through 1400+ pages of this thread to get some customer service? Again, I'm not here to complain about 1.05 being delayed or my handheld being delayed, I just want the cable I paid for so I can at least flash to 1.04, I guess that's too much to ask for?

I'm not on here to bicker with the dick riders and I would prefer to not be on here at all. If you read my previous posts I was asking other people how long it took to receive their cable because mine is still MIA, then OVTune made a post about how it got shipped out already so I asked for a tracking number. I've asked him 5 times now, still nothing. Also I think there's a difference between trying to find a solution vs crying but hey that's just me.

I'm lucky if I get the cable in the next 2 weeks but now I'm hearing some people have waited up to a month for their files because as far as I know having the cable is just one step of the process. I not only have to register the flashing license and wait for a registry file to be sent to me I also have to email him the ECU info to get the actual tune file. I mean at this rate I might as well be waiting another month on top of the 3 I've already waited for.

I think a lot of new buyers going into this investment don't know about the delays and that's why you see them on here complaining because they don't have time to go through this entire thread, they kind of give the benefit of the doubt like I did but I was not expecting this long of a wait. So I think my post is productive in helping those new potential buyers aware that this is what to expect if you decide to make the move. No where on page one or his website does it mention that I won't be able to tune still after 3 months.

My number one frustration in this truck is the dancing between 4-5-6, or usually just 6-4 when I am just crusing along. It is better when I don’t use cruise control, but after hours on the road I prefer using cruise control.

I live in a windy area with every gust the truck will downshift and then up shift again. On small hills it will down shift to 4th, if I don’t let off the gas I will soon be doing 90, if I do let off the gas, the truck up shifts to 5th looses speed and down shifts again.

I am hoping that with the tune and lock. I can bump it to 5th or 4th only when truly needed. Avoiding the gear dance altogether. It is possible I will discover she really needs to be in 4th gear all the time and then I will just deal with it.

Yours and my situations are a bit different than most complaints. People just don't want to acknowledge a reasonable complaint on here. Unfortunately, this is the only place that Mat makes a regular appearance, so we are left with defending our positions while trying to get customer service in a place where it shouldn't be done. I'm not sure how anyone can argue that, but someone will. I'm just hoping that soon I'll get to enjoy the tune I paid for as much as all of the people attacking me for filing my customer service complaint here.

You people seriously need to take a chill pill. Be patient. The new release is close (some of us MT guys already have it) and it’s going to make people very happy.

Also keep in mind that it’s the weekend. I’m going to go out on a limb and say the people doing the most complaining are sitting at home, not spending the weekend working like Matt is.

Here’s what Matt said on Friday -

I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather he spend the weekend working on the tune than sitting in front of the computer answering emails. You can’t make everyone happy. Matt could do email full time, then people would be happy with communication but pissed the product is taking so long.

There are a lot of tuned trucks out there and Matt has said before that this has had way more demand than he ever expected. A little over a year ago there was no tune. No options. Now look where we are. Matt wrapped up some of his other projects then stopped all other ones to focus solely on the third gen Tacoma. If that’s not commitment to the platform and the customers, I don’t know what is.

Communication isn’t always the best, but there are frequently updates posted here and questions being answered. Learn to search for posts by user if you don’t want to read everything else.

I’m well aware of the issue. You ran 1.04. Flashed the TSB Friday morning. Decided you wanted 1.04r instead. You haven’t gotten it yet. Blown up this thread all weekend

you became that guy shortly after.

You knew Matt would be working on the new tune this weekend.

Seriously just be patient. We’ve all been there. It’s frustrating I know. if you’ve followed this long enough, you’d know that the MT guys were always last in line so we’ve done plenty of waiting. Matt’s always taken care of people but it takes time.

I don't know how many times I've said it but will say again.
If you ask for files on the forum..i don't know who you are.
    Don't know your name.
    Don't know your order number
Don't have a clue what to send you.
Like username is "cornchucker78" oh that must be order numbe XYZ...how the hell do you expect me to know.

My business hours are on my site and I'm gonna start getting real strict with it starting now. I was even up late last night still reply

You ask for something on a Friday night - monday
    Weekend? - monday
On the forums? - ignored. Not proper channel for the request.
If you are sharing files from this point, for any reason your serial number will be blacklisted. Each file has unique identifiers and licenses within them. - don't like it read my ToS.
Because sharing files around creates a headache for me.

I think it's come to that point. I will update my site so that as much possible information can be found on our site, including revising our instructions.

My business hours are available and Saturday is for dyno tuning only.

And you know what, for everyone, I'm not going to unbrick ECUs for free anymore. If you want to take the chance of trying to apply the TSB yourself at home and you brick your ECU, I'll unbrick, $300 unbricking fee. Or go buy a new one from toyota for $1000+

    Our business hours are 9AM - 4PM Mon-Fri
10AM to 12PM Saturday - Dyno tuning only.

    Our support email is Support@ovtune.zendesk.com
IF YOU SEND MULTIPLE TICKETS EXPECTED RESPONSES TO BE DELAYED

Nope, you still missed it. Under normal circumstances, you would have seen nothing but encouragement, positive feedback, and patience from me, but around that comment he and I had an exchange where he said he would deliver that afternoon and set that expectation. Then he didn't follow through, some customer disrespect may or may have not followed, and the rest of the story is all here. Yes, you still missed it.

I am amazed by the customer on customer hate in here. The "haves" are so quick to call out the "have-nots" for voicing there opinion about a lack of response when this is literally the only place we can have a voice. Those of you reacting this way are the reason why things like sexism, racism and any form of prejudice still exist in this country. If it doesn't affect you, then it doesn't matter. In fact, it does matter, because you will fight so hard for the status quo that makes your world right, that you encourage the oppressive behavior that leads to hate. It's shameful. Believe be folks, if I didn't have to be here. I wouldn't. No one wants me to not be here more than me, but I don't have that choice until I either get my money back, or get what I paid for.

The “haves” as you call us are trying to help set the proper expectations since we’ve all been here and know what to expect. Most people don’t read the thread. Don’t use the search button. Expect service like Amazon prime. No one ever said you can’t voice an opinion.

Like I’ve said, we’ve all been in your position before. You aren’t the first person. Things are much improved from day 1 and getting better but that takes time.

We are all just trying to help each other out.
