Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Can somebody please talk about turbos, or anything else, please.

I heard the turbos were going to give us 550whp to the front wheels. Can anyone confirm this?

 

I should probably keep mouth shut because it is just more noise at this point, but just as a 'have' tune, I want to give some hard data.

I had cable in hand Dec 13, 2017, submit files
Got tune to install Dec 15, 2017.

So I had 38 days after paying without any tune. I am sure others had much longer than I, just my data point...

(And I guess I wont bother updating TSB on my own now, guess I should have done that before customer rage kicked in)

 

Sorry but somethings have to be addressed.

 

We all actually got what we paid for so I don’t see refunds being a thing. More likely the way it’s going it’ll just be $600 per update if you want them. Which I can’t fault anyone for just the nature of things.

 

Just follow @OVTune and only read his post.

 

At this point I don’t think it’s rage it’s just people not following protocol he’s repeated so many times. You follow the instructions and get in line to receive your product. The forums are not a proper channel and when they don’t get heard he doesn’t like that cause he enjoys giving people a good product.

Yes, lets let 1.05 get done so people have other things to complain about. Like 1.05 unlocked so much power that now I have whiplash from the acceleration.....

I'm man enough to admit that I spoke a lot out of frustration and anger this weekend, but I wasn't wrong in my assessment, only wrong in my delivery. However, good can come out of anything, included the worst of things. If Mat would rather refund my money than know I have his product, that is a decision he can make. I'm still a customer at this point and am not asking for a refund.

 

About time you did that. I'm guessing your business hours are east coast time too? Cuz you should go home and have dinner/quality time with your family.

I agree. If this is closed then there will be too many other posts with complaints from the whiny crowd. This thread keeps it consolidated.

 

I think there is likely an edit needed for the 3rd gens since he has had the tune (or at least a prior release) emissions tested. But, then again there is fine print that doesn't equate to reality for many things. Kind of like buying a glass pipe for... tobacco use only
