Easy way to prove/disprove this theory:

Anyone running the hypertech only need monitor the proper PID via scan tool or laptop/techstream to see if there's a difference between the cluster and what the ECU is seeing WRT veh speed. From what I've managed to pull from the 3rd gen SM, the path for speed data is:

Wheel sensors > skid control ECU > instrument cluster > ECU.

You read that right, it hits the cluster before the ECU (at least one path does).

I just got my dongle kit, having trouble getting the grddrivers installed so that the pcflash manager can see the dongle plugged into my PC to send to Mat. Any ideas?

I did, sent in some screen shots. Just checking the forum if anyone had any ideas / came across this before since they seem a bit bogged down. Not directly trying at all to get Mat to answer me here.

Install the drivers then run the TRU utility in the attached file. Make sure you install the drivers BEFORE plugging in the dongle, then plug in, let the drivers setup, and then run the TRU. If you still can't get it to run, I'll fire up my laptop and pull the driver files directly from the OS and send them to you.

Have you seen a drawing or something? I don’t see how @OVTune can change the displayed speed then...

I hope someone here has hypertech and can check.

Thank you. I was able to get the TRU to run and have sent the code over to OVtune. The PCflash doesn't show a dongle (or anything) in the dropdown, is this normal? Or is this because I plugged the dongle in before the GRD drivers were installed? Any ways around this now?

That's normal. As long as you don't get a "dongle not found" message, then it's working.

Wouldn't this be ideal now to configure the speed correction to optimize the shift points rather than reprogram the shift point manually now? Assuming speed and loads are variables within the gagillion tables.

I use Windows 7 and my dongle only works if I boot to safe mode with the ignore driver signing option. Ymmv

"My vehicle has too much power, I should've gotten the small engine", said nobody ever.

The p5flash that I downloaded runs a utility called ToyFlash 1.0.0, looks similar to the instructions but the instructions I have show it called PCMFlash 1.1.92. Any chance you can send that .zipped? The dongle instructions and links are all scatterred.

I'm not sure if @OVTune wants me to upload the flash manager here. If he blesses it, I'll upload it. Even though the pcmflash needs to be registered with the dongle, the flash manager will allow download of the tune files and that's been an issue lately.

Okay, no worries, just trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do to get this tune onto my computer. Thanks for helping.
