Really? couldn't use your phone to figure out just how far out your speedo is and do some simple math?

Is it bad that I want my speedometer to read correctly? I know how far my speedo is off... I want it to read corrrctly.

    Exactly. Thanks

It's not just the speedo that's off. Your odometer and gas mileage calculator are off as well. The Hypertech fixes all three.

i run the hypertech. yes it fixes the cluster display. but the ecu itself is still off.

i've pinged mat to see if i can get 1.04r as i'm starting to have issues with the tsb.

    current problems:

bad thunk when coming to a stop. getting much worse as the miles rack up on 04b04. i think i'm at around 4-5k miles on the TSB.

any gear, hitting redline at wot the truck just falls on it's face. feels like fuel cutoff and revlimiter. Likely due to the ECU seeing the wrong speed vs actual. Cause - 4.88 gears and slightly taller tires.

normally not a huge deal but there are times when accelerating into traffic going 75 i need some oomph and having the truck just go blargh on me is not good. this is also getting more frequent the more miles i put on the tsb. wasn't an issue when it was first done.

Does it really fix the odometer? I thought messing with that was illegal. Have been seeing conflicting info about the Hypertech.

It’s illegal to roll the miles back down, it’s not illegal to adjust for larger tires, especially since with larger tires you’re putting more miles on than what’s being displayed

it does. any information on the cluster is updated by the module by intercepting the signal from the ecu to the cluster for wheel speed by the hypertech module. but what the ecu sees is still the raw data from the wheel speed sensor.

Good news to me. A little OCD if I ever get bigger tires. I want the dash to be accurate.

The TSB itself is falling on its face at redline? That's interesting!

There is a lot of misinformation in the past few pages that will confuse a lot of people.

The faster your wheel spins, the more miles your ODO will read given the same distance traveled. This means that larger tires (wheel spins SLOWER) will cause the ODO to read less than the actual distance traveled. That is the way the math works.

Your ODO is calculated by wheel speed sensors and a little bit of basic math.

Could you re-flash the TSB while you wait? Just curious because the clunk is what I noticed after a bit on 1.04r so I flashed back to the TSB and it's been gone for a little while while I wait for 1.05. Curious if it would go away again with a fresh TSB flash.
