An excellent decision to "under promise and over deliver"; on both the tune (1.05 or anything after 1.04 is not a promise) and schedule dates (do not publish). I think this puts things in a more "real" context. It's important that people realize that (legally) you are clear about taking the position that "we can just walk away".

Most people don't realize that reverse engineering is like solving a puzzle designed by someone else. Traditional software development is actually designing the puzzle that you are now trying to solve.

What is important about that distinction is that you don't have any of what the designers did (logic map, a nice input/output map, the reason X was done instead of Y, etc.). As a result, when you learn a new aspect about what they are doing you have to re-evaluate everything you've already done within the new context.

    A grand puzzle indeed.....

P.S. Just to be clear, does this statement mean that "custom tunes" are not a promise, but rather "it's something I intend to provide, but could change my mind"? I don't believe I've read where you actually said to what extent exactly custom tunes would be provided or how you anticipate those would be managed. No info on time frame, number limit, etc.

here's a new and groovy idea.... let the man work, leave him alone... If you fucktards want to harass him on facebook you get identified and get charged a $300
"tolerance fee".When Mat puts 1.05 out for the rest of us we should be THANKFUL!! that the update is free.....and that we are not the fucktards

Machine or assembly..... heebi-jeebies. I had to do some way back when my mind was more plastic. It’s like writing code, that makes code. All you can do is operations that move data and registers. Add, subtract, shift, divide, etc. out of all those options, you build up routines that ‘do things’. No ‘if this then that’ logic, or loop until, or if greater than, etc. it was fun to write code for a soda machine, but that’s about as far as it went before it wasn’t fun.

You had mentioned something in the past about the taco not having an airflow or air pressure sensor? What are the odds of an ECU from a different Toyota working? Or if there is such a thing as an aftermarket ECU where these things are more open.
