Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Didn't really see anything different from the old instructions, a change list at the end would be helpful. Also it still says to flash an ECU and then a TCU file, what's that about?

 

There is no TCU file for 1.04.

 

Then what did I flash my truck with

 

A combined ECU & TCU file?

 

The instructions said: "Flash the ECU file first, then load the TCU file and flash that."

So, there will be 2 separate file?

 

Matt most likely included this in his email to you with your attached files:

"*Note, The TCU changes are within these files. Please skip the process about flashing a second TCU files.
Please let us know if you need any assistance. "

 

Man I cant wait to get this sucker. Ordered on Wednesday.

I'm guessing they got a ton of orders this holiday with the discount.

Yes we received a lot of orders. For everyone reading please bear with us as we get them out as quickly as we can. We have 50+ kits to prepare, we will get them out as quickly as we can.

 

The auto transmission has 2 files, one for the ECU and one for the TCU. The manual only has the ECU file because the transmission is a manual

 

Are the handhelds still waiting to ship when 1.05 is finished? Im moving soon and this is a concern.

 

For the auto.....

I think 1.04 has two files, an ecu and a tcu, 1.04r only has an ecu. I hope that clears up confusion without creating more.

 

Anchovy is correct but for 1.04 tune there was only one file (ECU) and the TCU file info was contained in it. This was stated in the email Mat sent me with my 1.04 files.

@OVTune could you tell us what the delay as been with 1.05? and do you have a latest estimate or time frame?

 

1.04 (dongle) was the first and only version of the tune I put on my truck until this last week (1.04R) and I explicitly remember having to flash both ECU and TCU (for 1.04, obviously only the one file for 1.04R). I wonder if at some point he adjusted it so that to flash 1.04 you only needed the ECU file?

 

That’s my story too, it very well could have and I anxiously wait to stand corrected. : )
