It matters because mat designated this tune as street use. The last company that bypassed safety and emissions with their tune kits got a huge fine from the government and they were court ordered to fix their screw up which cost them even more money

Just a gen2 TRD shift knob so far. Anxiously awaiting ovTune 1.05 with handheld tuner!
To shut all the nannies off (and keep them off) the truck has to be stopped and you press and hold until an indicator to the left appears. (A little more than 5sec).

Ive done a couple good burnout and have thrown it sideways in the snow and nothing has interrupted the fun. 6m in Canada.

I understand all of that but I’m not looking to simply do a burnout, my goal would be for the truck to act as how I ask it to. I get it, government reg. Blah blah. It was a question to which I was looking for an answer.

Is it possible? And is it something that could be looked into as an option on the tune? If not, then ok. Life will go on

The answer is every time you start your truck before you drive away hold that button till both lights light up which is 5 + seconds and it is completely disabled until you either turn it off or turn your truck off. I used to do this every time I started my truck because I had issues with it the vsc kicking in prematurely because of my lift untill I fixed the problem.

I’ll give it a try, but I feel I’ve done that and it will still pulsate and or beep when the tires slip. And if you can just hold the button to disable it, why can’t it just be programmed to be the exact opposite. And I still remember it being 25 mph and under but I’ll look again

Simply put, it is not possible to do what you want. The code that controls the throttle is extremely complex and integrated with everything in the truck.

Altering the code ( not the data..like tables) but the code could end disastrously. Google Toyotas history with their throttle code.

Yea I just drove my truck to try it. It works for sure.

I never got my “trac off” light to come on before. But I wasn’t holding it. I saw that chart in the other thread, but for some reason I assumed mine didn’t have the same terminology or lights. I learned something new tonight!

Traction control and VSC are two different things. VSC keeps your vehicle from going sideways, and Traction control controls wheel spin.

Read and searched through a lot of this thread, but still confused regarding ECT PWR:

(Auto trans) For those running something like the 91 Octane tune on 1.04R... what affect, if any, does the ECT PWR button have on the performance? Is it still necessary to turn it on at times? Does doing so have adverse affects when combined with 1.04R? Does it still offer an improvement above and beyond 1.04R itself?

I just picked up my new truck today, so any clarification on this combo of potential boosts/changes before I start buying mods would be much appreciated!

Even with my traction button held down for 5 seconds until the indicator to the left turns on (full traction off). My truck still acts funny when doing a long drift or dounut. My Throttle cuts in and out when ever it wants to and it still tries to limit the sliding

Potential dongle version buyer here - any caveats from buying a dongle version from another buyer selling? I understand I must pay the buyer and then OVTs license fee but are there any advantages/disadvantages in having the dongle version for normal use/updates?

I was originally holding out for a handheld. - thanks all!
