Peak gains are sexy and all, but I don't think that's the primary issue with the 3rd gen. Typically you have to design a NA motor to accomplish power delivery either via hp @ peak rpm or a fatter torque curve that sacrifices top end hp. These characteristic are dictated first by hardware and secondarily by tuning. I guess Toyota was under the assumption the the VVT provided them enough "hardware" flexibility to achieve both characteristics with same engine architecture for multiple vehicle applications. Most people on the forum would disagree!

My vote would be against chasing peak hp in favor of a flatter torque curve and enhanced driveability. This isn't a race car, it's a work vehicle at heart...

Seems like you are making great strides playing with VVT / ignition timing to improve the torque curve. Simplifying the # of tables that the ECU can flip through sounds intriguing as well. But I think the torque converter plays a significant part in the driveability issue. 3rd and 4th gear acceleration is so sloppy as the this powertrain combo tries to figure out what the heck to do with the torque converter... think your time and expertise here would be more valuable than messing with odo calibration, etc etc.

Just my opinion, business rationale might steer you in a different direction though. Definitely sitting back with interest as a potential future customer

Yeah that initial lag from the throttle irritated me enough to research. That has been what led me to find out about the shift sense, then the sprint booster thingy, then the pedal commander, and ultimately this which is obviously the best. I just really hate that from a stop this truck has crap response. Hoping this would have fixed that issue...just not sure yet.

I'd never complain about more power but for me with ECT the top has got plenty enough for me to be happy with.
Would be very grateful for some more bottom end power!

Still way to excited for 1.02!!

The initial lag needs to be fixed, it is a huge issue in my opinion. I could care less about the tire calibration in comparison and I run 34s. Don't much care about S mode changes as it works just fine too me. My list would be:
    More Torque at 2000-3000 RPM
Fix the slow from stop acceleration (falls on face)
    Quicker/firmer shifts
Fix the gear hunting but keep learning
ECT would be an all out mode
