Spent a day and a half in 4Hi in the recent mid-Atlantic snow storm, and didn’t notice anything unusual.

Scenario seemed to be 4Lo, down hill, coasting (<5-10mph) and then when the engine/toque converter would engage it was very sharp.

Honestly, by the time the 4th gen Tacoma’s come out my truck will be ready for retirement and I’ll be sure to check out the 4th gen

Hopefully they don’t take 10 years to update like they did with the last gen. Otherwise I’m going to have like 500,000 on my 2017.

Time for a 1.05 impression for those that have it. Scale 1-10. 1=meh, 10=happy as can be

Disclaimer: obviously tweaks still going to happen from testing

Well that’s their update schedule on the Tacoma, 5 years is a mid cycle refresh and 10 years is a total redesign

Let's not forget the 'ol Tundy re-design. I suspect that'll be the next big event.

I think they’re trying to put the 4Runner on the same refresh cycle as the tacoma

Yeah the tundra redesign is scary considering what they did to the Tacoma power train. Too much focus on EPA numbers and nothing else.. even though real world is no where close to the ratings

Surely they'll keep the 5.7 (with some updates) and offer a TT V6. I mean, who buys the 4.6 anyway? Meh

I was told by a knowledgeable Tundra insider to look for a 3.5 TT in 2021.Basically said it’s very easy to turbo this engine.

Maybe they’ll replace the 5.7 with a TT 4.6? Kind of how ford is slowly replacing their v8 with the TT V6

Did a 250 mile trip today from Portland to The Dalles and back. 19.3mpg average with 32" tires and 4.88 gears. Stayed in 6th almost the whole time, shifted to 5th once, just under 2k rpm at 65mph.
