    I had a similar issue...it took several days for UPS to show an update after Mat’s confirmed ship date.

    i really dont think you can get much more, if any engine braking using the valves because there is very limited air do to the closed throttle plate and low compression.

    diesel engines dont have a throttle plate thus require valve manipulation to take advantage of the higher compression ratio to give it effective braking force.

    i personally dont like the idea of modifying the valves for this purpose,but i am willing to try as i could be wrong.

    as for DFCO, it would be AMAZING!!! if we hard wire it to a switch and mount it to the shifter (like on a semi)but that's definitely a far shot.

    so for now you will be seeing this more often. DFCO :frusty: REVHANG :frusty: hopefully MATT will notice and have some mercy? :notsure:

    He's talking about when you lift and the engine goes to Atkinson mode (lower compression).

    My order was ready to ship for almost two weeks. Mat creates a shipping label and then tries his best to get the packages out as quickly as he can. Remember this is not Amazon, it's a solo act.

    no way!!,wow, i will check it out.
    regardless, engine braking is not free energy as it applies force on the engine. the stronger the braking the greater the force the greater the wear.

    the purpose of engine brakes is it is economical on semis as they pull, carry 3 or more times there wait and this is on trucks with 4 axles or more.

    plus i really dont think most of the guys are going to like the sound it makes !! if it works as intended.also keep in mind there are many gas 1 tons that would have benefited from this for while. maybe over-site . hell ,if works MATT should patent it if possible.

    as for me,no way ,DFCO to much a pain in stop and go traffic.:)

    IIRC, an earlier post from Mat said that for the full lock out option the process was shift in S mode, THEN drop down to S1, THEN hit ECT, and you're good to go full lock out.

    If that's the case, simply selecting ECT while in S mode would ('should') be the usual S-mode auto shifting option with the added benefit of ECT. Basically a dual map scenario. At least that's what I'm hoping for...

    Then again, I simply don't have the time to keep up with this massive thread and my memory has gone to shit...

    Mm, if I recall correctly the talk about needing to be in S1 was just a formality. I *think* S mode (any gear) + ECT button= gear lock with that tune option. But, best to hear it from the horses' mouth, not mine.

    Nope, mat said he only put the truck into s1 in the video to demonstrate gear lock through every gear
