I'm curious about the flash procedure followed by those who are experiencing the idle fluctuations.

Did you all flash to 1.05 on a fully warmed engine and then idle for at least 10 minutes after flashing before driving?

If not, could one of you volunteer to reflash to stock, then back to 1.05 on a warm engine followed by idling for a minimum of 10 minutes afterwards to see if that changes the fluctuation condition?

I know there was talk about disabling some or all of the learning process of the ECU (adaptive ECU), so I'm wondering if that includes disabling learning the proper idle baseline as it relates to warm/normal O2 sensor values. During a cold engine enrichment cycle the normal warm idle O2 values are somewhat ignored by the ECU to permit fuel enrichment. So it seems sane that flashing on a warm engine followed by an idle bake in would set a 'normal' idle baseline as the cold enrichment override instructions are not present.

The only thing Immediately noticed was the "race" to higher gears. Now, I'm on 33s and 4.88s so any woes I have will be more pronounced. I have a bout 50 miles on 1.05 and expect the tune to settle in after another 200 miles. I did have a few flare ups when coming to a stop after backing out of the driveway but I don't freak over that. Ultimately, time will tell. Just waiting until gear tuning comes into play

Okay it looks like, for some trucks, the engine just needs a *tiny* bit more ignition at idle.
    Revision coming today.

    Awesome.

I’m glad this will fix my physchologial issues and my inability to correctly flash the truck and let it idle. :p

Hopefully with this new revision I can just flash then immediately floor it and never let it idle. Ever.

Im under that impression too, hope its right.. Im on B03, have not made tsb to B04 yet. I am assuming that

    (B03 -> 1.05) = (B04 ->1.05) ???

    Can someone confirm?

Updating to B04 won't get you the tune any quicker unless you're dongle crew.
    Dongle-less B04 isn't avail yet.

idle rock steady with +/- 15 rpm variance which is completely normal.
Will send out to a few people to verify.

I believe you are correct. But he has only released the dongle b04 path. I do believe you will get a b03 --> 1.05 soon.

Makes me wonder if that's why Toyota had so many cells devoted to idle lol.

Damn these trucks can be fussy.

    Thanks for the update.

M/T guys are ready to give it a go :D

04B03 Dongle-less running 1.04 87 and ready for OVT-105-91. Actually running 91 octane on the 1.04 87 tune now. Runs much better than 87 octane. Hoping 12-23-18 brings the release of dongle-less tunes. Thanks Mat for your efforts and attention to our 3rd Gen Tacos!

Fussy is an understatement. My 2005 would take any fuel and it ALWAYS performed exactly the same. My 2017 performs very noticeably different off different fuels (brand, octane, ethanol content). It’s crazy

my dongle and computer are ready to go

@OVTune can we hold 1st for 2mph less? It just doesn't feel right every time I pull away. 1st to 2nd is fairly smooth but feels like a lot of slippage is occurring, when the tsb was a nice quick shift and immediate acceleration in 2nd.
