I've had the 2>1 cold clunk since I bought mine 1/4/16. After the latest TSB and 1.04R it went away, but came back after a bit.

    I’ll leave this here...

Just reflashed the new idle fixed 1.05 87 octane. 33s, stock gears.
Idle flux is gone. The clunk downshifting appears to be gone. And I didn’t use 4th On the highway. Gas mileage appears to be better too. Pretty F’n pumped right now. Can’t ask for much better for a base tune.

Just flashed 1.05 87 on a warm engine and let it idle for around 12 minutes. Only 10 miles in so I can't form a full opinion yet but one thing I did notice right away was the truck downshifts when I'm on the breaks coming to a stop. This is the first time the truck has worked with me to stop! Usually it feels like it's still trying to surge forward while I'm on the breaks.

I do have the idle fluctuation in D at a stop on today's 1.05 release. Completely stock Pro. But like I said, I'm only 10 miles in so I'm hoping that settles down.

I think that’s been the biggest issue with these trucks. Problems for some and not for others for like for like trucks. Mods aside.

How many transmission clunkers have done a drain and fill of their transmission to make sure it is filled to spec? Believe it or not, a little fluid makes a huge difference, especially on an already funky transmission.

@OVTune , thank you for working so hard on your weekend to try and fix this problem so that so many of the TW members can have an early Xmas present. Hope you and your family have the best the holidays can bring. :hattip:

Drove 140 miles on the updated 1.05 tune today. Man that thing drives so nice. Spent a lot of time in 6th gear on I-5. The power is noticeable. Running 255/75/17 I was able to achieve 19mpg avg for my trip. I really like how the truck drives with better power and throttle throughout the gears.

Some early shifting occurs for 3rd (I think), but it’s negligible. The shifting from 1>2 & 2>1 is better in the update for sure.

Granted being 6k lbs doesn’t help. I’m starting to realize I may just get some 30lb aluminum steps instead of my 180lb bolt-on rock sliders for commuting until I need to put them on for another trip.

I'm totally digging the flares! What are they do they allow for fender trimming to clear larger tires?

I’m definately not going to call the feedback that’s been coming in “complaining” or “nitpicking”. I think it’s valid feedback. Mat even said that he welcomes all feedback as any good service provider should.

That being said, I think there may be a divide in positive and negative feedback coming from a cold transmission (not engine) and a warm transmission.

When cold, I agree with the feedback that’s coming in reporting of a late AND prolonged shift into second. I can also agree that the truck wants to shift into 4th kinda early. But when warm... dang, it all seems to come together. This is defiantly the best my truck has ever run.
