Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Wow it seems we have more upset tuners then happy tuners! Everyone needs to remember you can customize 1.05 to make whatever issue you maybe having to your liking! I for one will be waiting until custom tuning is open before flashing! I suggest when your posting any feedback you list what you have done to your truck! (ALL STOCK NO MODS) It would help others know what they may experience. I for example lifted ,34" tires, re geared 4.88's, full steel skids front to back armor, front winch bumper with winch , RTT rack,RTT not mounted for daily driving. I am still on 1.03 i get the best results with 1.03. I also have the SSP installed and it is for me a must have! I wish i could let you all drive my truck and feel how awesome it drives! It really scoots around town and on the highway is my only issue i cant use cruise control! If i baby it keep it 65mph or less it will get 19mpg's and thats with the speedo off 5-6 mph. With all that said ,is the reason i will wait until custom tuning is open and working! I dont want lose 1.03 until i know i can at least match the goodness i have with 1.03! It sounds like i wont be getting rid of the SSP anytime soon either.

There is no IF The 1.05 M/T test tune is great and the expanded maps of the next release will make it awesome.

Ya, 91 file has some small issues for me, the 87 file has been rock rock though.

As good as this sounds, people would have raged if the 3rd gen Tacoma was purely a cosmetic upgrade. There’s no making everyone happy no matter what you do.

If you’d taken the 4.0 and put a 6 speed auto behind it, there’d likely be far fewer complaints about the drivetrain but then there’d still be people unhappy about the “old” Tacoma and how Toyota cant innovate and is behind the times.

I dont really miss the 4.0 these days, although i did initially. I usually average another 2-3 mpg over what my second gen got which is pretty nice.

 

I wonder if the stock fuel pump can cope with E85

 

If i recall correctly he said everything is compatible but MPG is terrible but thats expected with corn fuel... 30% more fuel is used
