He can't do this, can't go from 1.04r backwards.

Forgot about that. How about going to stock? I started at 1.04r, so I've got nothing to compare it to. I've also got a Leer cap & it didn't seem to affect mileage at all.

Oh yea. Could go to the TSB possibly.

I've never heard anyone say a shell made it worse. The improved air flow usually compensates the weight.

Shell around where I'm at isn't that greatest cause everyone is buying the stuff that is $1.50 cheaper so it gets old...

Big Mike from Marlin Crawler got 17 mpg with 40s on his way down to a meet in Arizona. One of the sales guys told last time I was up there buying lockers.

If your MPG is horrible make sure your looking at the geometry and the other mods you've done as well. If done right you take a hit but it isn't that bad. For those reasons I like to keep my rake stock, nose down about an 1" to help with the wind. Roommate runs 6" lift, 34s, rails, bumper, winch, 4.30 gears and single piece driveshaft. He gets 16-17 on the highway.

The tune isn't going to solve every problem. Just helps out.

Yeah, i'm running my tank down to fill up somewhere else. I added some air to the tires. I took the rod vault off the prinsu. I'm trying all angles.

Yup. Truck does what I need. Never came across a trail I couldn't make it down, or cared if I did.
I almost traded for a full size once, then my wife asked me one question.
"Are you gonna drive this down the same fishing trails you go down now?"
Left the dealership, haven't gone back.

What's that up top, a fishing rod holder? I work in aviation, and small things like that cause huge parasitic drag which could be contributing to your fuel economy losses. Also, a coworker noted a 3mpg loss when he installed a topper on his f150. Not saying that these are factors, but something to keep in mind.

Yeah, I took the rod vault off today. Haven't driven enough to see if there's a change, but that thing was light and aerodynamic.
I really don't think it's the shell, but I could be wrong. It's way quieter in the

Have you checked mileage without all the additional accessories on the roof and shell? That looks like it may cause a bit of drag.

Today I have a 150 each way road trip to family for Christmas. It’s a trip I take regularly to visit the wife’s family. We usually take our 4Runner but I have taken the Tacoma several times.

If 1.05 doesn’t do what I want this truck to do or makes the trip miserable like it usually is in my truck, I can nearly promise you I’ll end up with a platinum tundra this Saturday.

I’m tired of complaining about this truck.

If I do sell it, URD exhaust, icon coil overs, TRD intake, never used Icon AAL, will all be for sale.

At an inch or more of threads showing seems to be where the ride exponentially degrades IMO

Yah but doesn’t the truck just feel limp dick with those huge tires? I can break my 32” loose pretty easy, just curious is those huge tires is worth the sacrifice in felt power?

Have to ask him. I'm pretty sure he was on 4.88 and I'm not sure if he went to 5.29s. He also has a 580:1 transfer case so I don't think he's worried about torque.
34s and 4.30 have some good snap still. I can't wait till we swap and they're MY 4.30s. :burnrubber: I'm still on 3.9s and I'm good with it I just think its going to help my highway exponentially.
