You're not seriously "working" today, are you?

    Cripes, it's only the 26th.

Nobody's truck is going to blow up.

Hope you had a merry Christmas,

    Cheers

right i know my truck is a bit weird. yay. haha

however others have reported similar behavior so i assumed maybe it's all related to what was quoted above about the changes made to make sure the truck didn't hang up in 4th.

    hence my question :)

I've also noticed the idle fluctions in D and that it only did so once up to temp on the updated 1.05 93 file. I also logged and sent it to OVTune.

Remember that a slight rise in revs is the torque converter unlocking, it may seem like it changed down when it just unlocked to get you going a bit quicker

    i know.

however these are +500 rpm gear changes, not small fluctuations.

i do notice that it likes to leave the converter unlocked during shifts which also drives me kinda nuts. the truck will shift 3-4-5 with the converter unlocked.

I am having slight idle fluctuations when engine is COLD, on latest 1.05 91. If I put truck in gear before engine is up to operating temp, RPM would jump between ~1000 and ~500. This only occur when I first go into gear and start moving. Rock solid RPM once engine is warm. 265/76/17 Falken tires, otherwise stock 2017 TRD Pro. I had zero idle issues on the initial 1.05 release, but didn’t care for the long first gear shift. I flashed the latest 1.05 twice, on cold and warm engine, idle each time for 20 minutes, didn’t make difference regarding cold idle fluctuations.

I did notice 4th gear hang couple of times getting on the highway, under moderate acceleration, on either slight grade or headwind.

I’m confident Mat will figure out the 4th gear hang, might need to figure how to send logs for the cold idle fluctuations. Plan to send Mat video of cold idle later today.

I’m on 93 file also. I thought about flashing the 91 file to see if it fixes it the idle issue.

93 file is so nice on the highway. It’s incredible. I have about 250 highway miles on the newest 1.05. Truck hasn’t downshifted to 4th one time at speeds over 70 mph.

I'm waiting on custom tuning at this point mostly because of my engine mods and since the idle only fluctuates by about 50 rpm so it doesn't bug me. I agree with the highway performance as well my truck stays in 6th quite a bit now. But What would irritate me the most was how the truck performed at low speeds on previous tune versions, so like 40 mph and below, which is so much better with 1.05 93 truck can cruise at 1100 rpm and not feel like it's lugging anymore the truck just feels so much lighter on it's feet Mat's made me love driving my truck finally.

My truck experienced same thing this morning. Same scenario. I was going to work, getting on the interstate, downshifted and upshifted multiple times. I held the throttle and had to accelerate it past the point to stabilize it. It seemed to do it right at 40-45mph. Mostly between 4th and 5th

I wonder if this is truly the only transmission that uses shift tables like this.

Are you letting the truck warm up 30 seconds? This is a must with these new trucks

Just a reminder.... Remember to give the tune a couple hundred miles to sort itself out. A number of drive cycles may also be required (number of cold starts to operating temps). I know many of you have already driven hundreds (thousands?) of miles on the newest tune, so any issues you are seeing with this bipolar truck are certainly valid and I have no doubt Mat will address in time.

    Merry Christmas to all!

If I was Mat I’d stop fighting this “base” tune thing and just get started on custom tunes.

I think every single person would prefer and will need a “custom” tune. So why not sell the kit with logging instructions, log it, then tune each persons truck individually. That’s what’s going to happen anyways I feel like. Too many different little issues people are having, everybody’s trucks are different, very different.

Drove my commute today in light city traffic with stop and go. Avg 19mpg 1.05 tune. Sure is nice

Its an odd combination of Man, I hope Matt enjoys his family and Man, I hope the Tune becomes self aware and drops itself...
