Cut Mat some slack.... he’s only one person and has to deal with literally thousands of us needy 3rd gen owners, lol.

Don’t forget, he has other customers that he has to support as well from previous platforms that he’s tuned.
And I’m sure he probably has to eat and sleep once in a while, but who knows if he even does that nowadays :notsure:

I just finally sent in my software ID so I'm sure I've got a few days to wait. Could not find another method around using this surface book. Nothing virtual wanted to work at all.

I’m not sure how much turbos would help you... they probably won’t be building any boost under 2500 rpm

Im curious the ratio of "bought it for more power" vs. "Bought it for better drivability "

Before Toyota updated their calibrations (specifically 04B13 for me), definitely bought the tune for driveability.

haha I bought in July to get ahead of the August release.
It's all good though. 1.04 and 1.04R have held me over and are waaaaay better than stock and also Sprint Booster & SSP which I had.

driveability for sure. At 29000 miles, I've redline the motor 2 or 3 times. I got other toys in the garage for power.

MUCH better throttle response, elimination of "off the line bog" and stuttering to name a few. Factory code was garbage on my early 3rd gen.
The improved midrange torque on the 91 files has me hooked now though lol. Right in the sweet spot at 70 on the highway.

I can't confirm the technical comments; but I can say I prefer engine braking; especially when towing.

I haven't seen any mention of you being able to read the tune from your ECU and then later be able to use that to return to a state you were in prior to installing OVtune. A tune file that is labeled stock is included. No idea what variant of stock this calibration is though.

If one truck starts out with 04B02 and another has 04B04. They both install OVTune then later "flash to stock". What do they have now?

COBB had this issue with version 1 AccessPorts. you got a bit for bit stock calibration but it might not have been the one you started with.
ECUtek had a different issue. They'd "license" the ECU and that was a permanent change even after you flashed a stock map on it.
Not sure what method OV has chosen.

Well, you definitely could with PCMflash and dongle kit. Read and save OEM cal from the ECU, then flash it later if u wanted. I've done it.
