Is that a Pro add on for extra thrust?

 

I just found out the pro doesn't even come with the TRD CAI. I mean, how did they forget that bolt on?

This baffled me too.. buying a top of the line TRD model and doesn't even come with a basic TRD intake. Wtf.

I concur.

Knowing that in 1.01B he didn't touch some parts of the engine & he unlocked the 301hp Camry tune and is seeing what Toyota did.. im thinking 1.02 will be a drastic change.

1.02 plus the exhaust will be fun!

 

Best. Mod. Yet. Bro! You won't be disappointed. My girlfriend immediately noticed the difference in the trucks smoothness as well as power from THE PASSENGER'S SEAT! So yeah, it's pretty freaking awesome

The power is really just an added bonus, there's definitely a good bit more there but the power addition pales in comparison to the improvement on drivability and smoothness of power.

One big manual truck-only bonus is in quick shifting. I'm not sure your experience with this, but in my truck it seemed like I could shift normally no problem but if I tried to peel out and shift between 1-2 on the fly I would ALWAYS get this little clunk as the shifter engaged 2nd. I suspect now this was rev-hang related because 1-2 shifts are much quicker and now I rarely get that little clunk. I promise I know how a clutch works too, I tried double clutching and that didn't help but the tune made things much better.

Has there been any additional information about whether or not this tune is traceable by Toyota in the event of a warranty claim?

I still don't see how its a "safety" concern considering someone in a manual transmission Tacoma can do the same exact thing already. I remember OVT saying that he has ideas, and I'm definitely going to keep trying for this. I'm not the only one!

 

Not entirely, I can't shift from 5th to second or 1st synchros won't allow. I can probably do a 6/5 to 3rd but it isn't going to be happy.

The safety catches would be to not have someone grenade the engine by running 7k rpm up a hill for a mile lol.

Just going slightly downhill and truck won't go to 6th. Love it. Not.

And the truck won't go into 6th gear after the tune???

 

Isn't this a factory cruise control issue? Are you asking OVTune to fix it? Or, is this a new development with the tune?

 

Keep in mind all that dylon has spec u exhaust system as well, more variables in this mix.

 

I know this isn't the case here but an FYI, ECT mode won't go into 6th until midway through 72mph.

Have you had the latest transmission TSB from Toyota?
