I said this days ago. Fine tune 1.05, release it to all ecu's/MT and then open tickets for custom tuning with whatever limit you have decided on. These ass hats in here are fuc$ing over us MT guys, and I understand there is significantly more of them then us. But I think u get where I am coming from.

These clowns have had their change. Let us MT guys have a go at it for a bit.

Just my .02. Thanks for all your hard work Mat.

Taking some time off from the forum is definitely planned. I apologize if my post comes off in any bad way. I consider myself to be a pretty good tuner, and when I want to learn a platform I don't stop until I understand everything. I spend endless hours studying, learning, testing, etc. So that what I create is *as good* or better than what the engineers did. But man Toyota is the hardest test I've ever taken.

04B31 2019 Auto "TSB" version calibration support will be available soon.

    You guys with surging/stumble issues...

Try running some 93 octane for a few tanks.

Mine (stock tune / 87 octane) would stumble every time I backed up my driveway.
After switching to 93 octane a few weeks ago... stumble is completely gone.
Coincidence ? maybe. Also got the 62-18 TSB done around the same time.

Lets not forget... the compression ratio on these engines is 11.8:1. That is sky high to be running on garbage 87 octane fuel. It's too high for 93 octane even.

I think to eliminate as many variables as possible... everyone should be running at least 93 octane for a few tanks to determine if the glitchy shit Matt is trying to tune out is simply the result of shitty fuel. It's the one variable he has NO control over.

Toyota’s mess is no joke. I’m just glad to have someone that actually wants to fix the problems and not just slap a bandaid on it and call it a day. This has come a long way over the past year and people seem to forget how terrible the stock calibration is and that 2 years ago that’s the only option we had... keep up the great work Mat. A lot of us really appreciate the work and what you have and will do for this platform, others will be unhappy no matter what.

Hang in there Mat! Don't let a few people get under your skin. 99.9% of us are extremely grateful for what you've done for this platform.

Yep, you’re a great tuner. 1.05 is the best one I’ve ran, and I’m keeping my truck.

I feel like you’re at a point where this thread and your website is enough to keep the sales coming in.

I’d stay off of here, post some teasers on Facebook and your website, and let the bitching happen on here. The product speaks for itself.

Most people seem to understand your frustration and appreciate that you have taken on the challenge.

But this ^ is the crux of the problem. There are a limited number of contributing components. Maybe it's time for someone to figure out what other things are going on beside the ECU/Tune? If it's not the tune, does that leave mechanical component versions and/or tolerances?

Well I think you've done better than the engineers at Toyota. Look at the crap they put out in 2016 on the original Tacoma, 1.05 is a night and day difference. Funny thing is though, if you read through the TSB threads you see all the same comments as you see in this thread, some say the TSB is the best thing ever, others say no difference or its crap, worse gas mileage yadda yadda. I don't believe its possible to have a tune that's going to work 100% on all trucks or for all people.

Yah I find myself having to push the gas more to get the power I need to maintain throttle. Almost feels like some torque is lost or something

At the end of the day having a f-uped truck to tune is what is going to make you money. If it was easy we would see more competition. Supply and damand.

I feel the same way. Not to bash on Mats work but based on 1.04 it feels like I'm towing a trailer. In the end this is just a POS truck with no power. Like mat said in earlier post this tune doesnt make your engine a V8 however, I believe it still needs a better tip-in and shift maps which I will be requesting whenever this custom tuning begins.

What are the gear sensors/gauges called in the Toyota pack? I think I may just pay the extra $9.99 for that feature alone. I really can't stand not knowing what gear I'm in at any given moment, as it's extremely difficult to tell the difference between converter lock and actual gear changes.

I'm with the others, this tune was the deciding factor as to whether I kept this damn truck.

A tad bit of tip in would change everything for me IMO. Other than that the tune is great!
