Are you guys seeing this when you first start the truck, or after it's been running awhile and up to temperature?

I am seeing it after putting it in D to leave work, while the engine is still cold (let it idle for 30+sec. before putting in D). It will surge from 600 - 1000 for about 5 seconds or so. The only other time I notice it is when I am warmed up and stop at a traffic light or stop sign it is surging but much less noticeable (~ 600 - 750). Figured if it does not work itself out after a tank, I will submit a ticket with Mat to get the idle fix.

Did you get the idle fix file after the initial release?
That file took that exact symptom away for everyone that I know of.

Is your file from December or early January? There was a fix file in early Jan, you had to open a ticket to get it. I have it and no longer have the idle surge.

My file included the 1->2 shift improvement, but not the idle surge fix. I think I will just go ahead and request it now. Thanks.

So... you guys that have this tune are saying it effectively and completely removes the invisible parachute we've been dragging behind our trucks ?

Also... reading all the posts about difficulty with getting the tune into the truck... reaffirms my decision to wait for a handheld unit. I have ZERO patience with computer shit.

Matt... any speculation on a handheld release date ?
Obviously all the MT guys will need to be handled first. :hattip:

It really isn't that hard to load the tune. I'm not very computer savvy either, and it was easy. Just follow the directions and you're good to go.

It’s not too bad, I find it easier to be patient with the current method rather than waiting an unknown number of months for the handheld to come out.. lol.

Loaded the 87 1.05 at 13,165 so 101 miles in it, half of which was this trip to the airport. Some 40mph, but mostly 70 to 80. Idled at the terminal for a minute and drove home. 36F outside. I'm on 91 gas. Only caveat is the truck was already warm when I left on this trip.

flashing is so easy a monkey could do it. dont wait for handheld. just do it now. if you have a windows PC great. if not buy the cheapest one at bestbuy. literally no issues with doing this. it is very much worth it. and very much night and day versus stock tune. just my 3 cents.

Really? 1.04 was somewhat gutless in my rig.

1.03 was the balls. It was amazing how quick this 6k lb rig could scoot.

I had the same exact problem. I emailed Mat. He sent me a new version that is VERY nice.
