If it helps, I have some miles on the tune and the surge only goes from 500 to 600 at a stop now. See movie clip below

Just my 2 cents but I think down the road Mat will incorporate
the aggressive “tip in” of 1:03 into a more performance oriented tune,
maybe it will be part of the talked about “Insane Mode” or a hybrid there of but as good as 1:05 appears to be(trying to wait for handheld)there seems to be alot of nostalgia for 1:03

That 600-500 pulsing video is exactly what mine did, but only on 1.05 87, when i went to 1.05 91 it was gone. But i never gave it any time to adjust, it may go away if given a few tanks.

I had the same results (original release of 1.05). Switched from the 87 to 91 tune and the surge went away - running 91 oct. fuel on both. Now I only notice an occasional surge maybe once a week at random. I'm going to shoot Mat an email and see about obtaining one of the updated files that is suppose to fix the idle surge.

I was referring to the 2019 ECU ID's, specifically. I'm still trying to figure out the technical differences, if any, between the 04B30 and 04B31 ID's.

Just a different tsb level, I believe.

I had the exact same experience. Idle pulse on 1.05 87 and no idle pulse on 1.05 93. 93 is cheap enough here for me so I will just keep on it.

I had it in both unfortunately. The power is way more pronounced in 87 for me, 91 felt sluggish (seems backwards I know).

Possibly, but what substantial TSBs are there for a 2019 that would result in an entirely different ECU ID?

I'm only aware of the three older TSBs that somehow still apply to 2019s... which in and of itself is a bit odd since I just (perhaps mistakenly) assumed the new models would include all older TSBs:
    http://www.carproblemzoo.com/tsb/toyota/tacoma/

If it's just those older TSBs, then great, mystery solved. If not, what could it be, exactly?

Good question. I originally had 04B02, then after a tsb I had 04B03, then got another tsb and went to 04B04. That's what I based my guestimation on.

Toyota has a crapload of calibrations. Specifics of the various calibrations aren’t documented publicly aside from the small details in TSBs that will say it addresses some issue.

This question may have been asked and answered but I can’t find it. Has anyone with the 1.05 tune experienced noticeable increase in performance while towing? (Performance over the stock tune)

So it looks like this 600-500 "pulsing" RPM while in D is a common occurrence on 1.07 87. If anyone has had this and a new tune from Mat fixed it let us know, or if you had it and is went away on it's own, let us know (and how long it took to go away), thanks!

I opened a case with Mat for the 500-600 pulsing at a stop issue and he sent me some new files to try out. I will be doing this here shortly.
