Instructions that were up for new FM seemed to be only for dongleless , was it for dongles too ?

Maybe a dumb question, but what if you used an image taken of the original registered computer or had everything set up in a virtual machine when you first registered (if its even possible??) Kinda pointless and a lot of effort since everyone is saying Matt will work with you if your computer bites the dust.

Same. I dragged my feet when I ordered on the 4th and didn't send in the system ID until yesterday because I am an idiot .

I was just trying to set all my stuff up.

 

Typically identifiers like that are generated off the hardware configuration. So if you took an image and put it back on the same computer, there shouldn’t be any issue. If you took that image and out it on a different computer, the hardware changes and itd likely blow up (no different than windows activation)

But yeah long story short, probably not worth the effort. I just have a partition set up for flashing I boot to when I want to use the tuning software and I have windows updates and defender disabled. This way I don’t have to worry about it other than if I computer / SSD dies in which case I’ll just have to register again.
