Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Print out the latest (rev1) transmission TSB that's on the sticky threads. Walk into your dealership and tell them you have busy shifting behavior, hard time holding gears on the highway with grades, etc., and ask them to perform the update. Dealers have been tough to deal w/ on a lot of these issues but I don't think many have given too hard of a time to spend a few minutes hooking up TS to load an update so long as you give them the info. Problem is awareness and many dealers aren't familiar with the various TSBs and updates. Remember a TSB is an OPTIONAL update so you almost have to raise a complaint or request to get it done. This isn't a recall, in which case they would do it automatically without your asking.

I tried using crawl control once... just once. I though my truck was going to break it made so much noise. I would never use it again. In retrospect, I probably should have bought an SR5 and put a locker in it since that is why I bought the offroad. Then I would not even have crawl control and I dont use the mulit terrain select either. I like feeling what the truck is doing without the aids of braking. I have done 4 wheeling with the tune and i guess im used to the way the truck drives and responds with the tune and dont remember stock but its good and predictable 4 wheeling.

 

I would think that 1.01B would be considered the beta. 1.01A was the alpha.

Do you convert it when you send the file? Or do you mean the dealer converts it?

 

if the car is 04B02/03 I convert it to my calibration.

If the truck is 04B01 it must be udated by the dealer because both the ECU and TCU has to be updated and it must be done in sync, only techstream can do it.

 

Any update on shipments? or up to what order number you plan on shipping this week?

Nah - took off work the last two days and have been sitting in my truck for the last 48 hours with my dongle in my hand waiting for the good stuff

 

Earlier in the thread Matt said he would try and have the file out to everyone by Friday. Patience.

Around here you can get arrested if caught with your dongle in your hand sitting in a vehicle. Just don't say you have dueling banjos on the radio.
