Funny although I agree, my beater commuter is a manual and I love it. Gets 40+ mpg too

Haha. You probably should not drive a manual then for sure lol

But I can see how a manual would suck if one lives in a hilly area. I live in Utah and while we most definitely have hills and hilly terrain, it's really never an issue. Just have to plan ahead a little.

I ran with the Speed 3 scene for a while, loved that car but I like my truck more. Mazdaspeedforums prepared me for TW, less ban hammer here though. "Can I fit my tires on this lift" is the equivalent to "Can I run a downpipe/E85 and not do the HPFP". Got my car tuned by Nishan, ran 25% corn and got lucky and never had to clean the pump but boy did I love E85!!!! Turbos love it. But you are right, just run 91 if you are looking for MPG and low/easy maintenance

For people playing with gear lock and shifting. You have to let off the accelerator if you want to shift at high RPM. If you you're pedal to the ground and shift at 6500 it's not going to be nice, it will be a hard shift because it will peg the limiter.

Why do I get the feeling that this post may be in response to my recent ticket about what happens when I hit the high rev limit in 1st or 2nd? lol... shit.

Not only you lol, seems everyone is out playing with it pegging the limiter.
You got to shift before the limiter and or upshift and let off the gas pedal.

Imagine shifting while full throttle in a manual. Same effect, not a nice shift at all.

Blog post says to let off the gas pedal at high rpm to shift

My turn to look like an idiot - so this is now disabled? I finally got off work and was so excited to do this, but when I clicked on the link on step one (see picture), I get this "The file you are trying to download is no longer available" - so this no longer works and we are waiting for new link now?

Fair enough. Just need to re-learn the throttle a bit. Thank you for the clarification!

PS: the truck is crazy fun to drive with the 93 performance tunes... THANK YOU!!
