Not to beat a dead horse, but everyone does know that windows update sucks right? I recently did a wipe and fresh install of a 9 y/o windows 7 computer using the factory restore disk and this is how it went for 3 days: check for updates, download, install, restart, check for updates, download, install, restart, check for updates, download, install, restart, check for updates, download, install, restart, check for updates, download, install, restart,.........ect just to get it fully up to date. If you have only checked for updates once or twice while troubleshooting today's problem you are probably still missing stuff as many updates are layered and not available until other things are updated. Keep going until you get a fresh restart and it tells you there are no new updates.

Then consider using something like CCleaner(free version) to clean up your junk registry files.

this is why I dont do updates. its a never ending cycle. plus they usually break more than they fix in my case.

 

@OVTune is it possible to have the base map with gearlock?

 

Agreed...it took me three attempts to update Windows 8.1 this my.

can TS be loaded directly to a windows comp? Being able to update without messing with the dealer would be an amazing option for myself.

 

The "free" version of TS, yes. You cannot use the online features, but it is fully functional otherwise. Some/Most of the TSB files are available here on TW via search. They are .CUW files and TS by default will not let you flash an incompatible file.

Yep. That’s the only way to keep the old junk running. Or to make java play nice. I still run windows 7 on a daily basis.

 

No issues at all here, other than Windows Defender getting rid of p5flash before I got an exclusion set.
