Mat had a post a few pages back that indicated while using cruise control gear lock will not prevent downshifting.

Thanks man. So you're saying that the only thing available right now other than the base tunes is FOB for MT? Are the peeps commenting on the 87/91 Performance tunes testers?

I believe the AT guys on the performance tunes have post-TSB ECU versions

Yes!! I want to be able to hold 15-20% throttle and have the truck cycle through the gears until it hits my desired speed or 6th gear where I can either back off or maintain. I agree that the truck is falling off after 4th and skipping 5th basically. I don't want to have to add an additional 15-20% of foot in the accelerator to avoid going from 4th to 6th at like 1200 rpm's

I'm on 04A61, so I guess I'll just have to wait. I'm really looking forward to checking out these new mappings! :) BTW, what does FOB stand for?

For those who have gone with the gearlock version, make sure to read the blog post about the use of ECT.
    Copied from OVTUNED.COM

    GEAR LOCKING FEATURE:

NOTE- WHEN ECT IS ACTIVE THE TRUCK WILL NOT DOWNSHIFT WITHOUT MANUAL INTERVENTION (S MODE SHIFTER).

IF YOU PRESS ECT IN D MODE, THE TRUCK WILL UPSHIFT BUT WILL NOT DOWNSHIFT UNLESS THE RPM IS VERY LOW (1200 RPM). SO IT IS POSSIBLE TO DRIVE IN ECT + D MODE, BUT NOT ADVISABLE AROUND TOWN.

To use Gear Locking, you place the truck in S mode, and then enable the ECT button. This will lock whichever gear you select with the Shift Selector, similar to a manual transmission. (The truck will still downshift for safety reasons below 1200 RPM).

You can upshift or downshift the truck manually at any RPM. At high RPM Upshifting the truck requires removing your foot from the accelerator pedal. You can downshift while maintaining your foot on the accelerator pedal though.

you should ALWAYS try to shift BEFORE the rev limiter (6800) or you will hit fuel cut.

@OVTune (Mat) advised that the 04A61 perf and gear lock tunes will be released by the end of the month. OVTuned will be closed down next week so perhaps we might see these tunes by the weekend .

After installing and uninstalling FM 1.0.0 and FM 1.0.2 alternating between x86 and 64 bit 14 times yesterday I gave up and went to bed. This morning I noticed that FM 1.0.4 was out so I tried it and was successful on the first try. Just make sure your C++ is current. All of the tunes downloaded and I tried out the 93 performance first. WOW. What a difference. The changes made including the 6800 RPM red line make it almost like flying and I have nearly 50 years experience flying. This made all of the aggravation worth while. Good luck.

That's exactly where I am with the same tune right now. The smiles are huge, but my wife said it feels like I'm trying to win a race at every stop sign.

Naturally, I responded with "I am." :headbang:

I tried driving it like a grandma on my way to work this morning, but then just couldn't help myself when I ended up with open road in front of me...

    @OVTune

A few days ago you said my package was screwed up by UPS so my box was not able to ship. I have still not seen an updated tracking code and the original still shows that it has not shipped. I purchased on Feb 4th. Order #3824. I also emailed 4 days ago about the coupon code. Looks like it has been a crazy few days but just wanted to see if any updates were available.

that was only if everything went perfectly smooth without a hiccup. Didn't happen lol I'll be here next week.

We did ship the box, UPS made it disappear. We are shipping you a new one, we are just waiting on cables. They should be here this week. Even Tactrix is having difficulty with demand right now.

This is very frustrating, it did it far worse stock but is still present with the tune. Throttle, speed, and gear need to be linear all the way until the throttle percentage is lowered.

It's how the transmission works. I can tune it but I can't work magic. it's present because that is how the transmission looks up how to shift, and how it shifts.

There is only so many ways to configure a shift when it uses accel angle and axle speed.
