I tried out the 91 Gear Lock liked everything but the tip in. Maybe my foot is too heavy lol. Went back to 91 Base which is just money.

Any way to get gear lock added to the base tune in the future?

Just don't like the tip-in. Passenger feel uncomfortable, and in the traffic. Like the performance tune overall.

I tried 87 performance today. Way to much tip in for me. Also the truck didn't seem to care for it either but she's a picky bitch. Back to 87 base till this tank burns through. Then I'm going back to 91 base I think

I agree the ratio is probably like 95% happy and 5% not so much. I just think most of that happy 95% aren't in here posting about it, while most of the unhappy 5% are.

Its all in driver preference honestly. I just don't prefer it.

You guys complaining of the tip in give yourself a chance to get use to it. I love it myself, just have to use a lighter touch on the skinny pedal. The advantage is that if you need to smoke it you have it at your finger tips or should I say toe tips. :)

Not sure what the opposite of what I wrote is.
Let me re-phrase. I saw more posts than I imagined I would see in here not happy with it. With how good the 91 oct base tune is on my truck, I just figured everyone would be happy. But I forgot how finicky these trucks (and owners) are.

I think there is a substaually larger segment of the customers that are running a tune far beyond there expectations. I’m on 91 perf/GL and lovin it!

I’m in a stock truck and fine with the tip-in. Just took a slight change in my driving input.

Yes! People just need to give it a week to get used to it. Responsive tip-in can be learned and is fun (although it is less fun in stop-n-go traffic). It's like learning how to get used to "touchy" brakes.

My only problem with the new tip-in is that I am not the only one who drives the Taco. I know my wife will adjust to it like she did for 1.03 91, but I don't want to listen to her complain every day like she did when were running that tune.

So my advice: Go with a performance tune unless you drive in stop-n-go traffic often, or someone else will be driving your truck sometimes...then go with the base tune.

It's been 3 tanks since i flashed 91 perf. tune and I still not get use to it. It's not a problem when i drive alone, but with family in they think i'm a new driver. :)

Yup. Furthermore, I’d put money that some unknown portion of that unhappy 5% have non tune related truck issues like low tranny fluid, bad CKS, undertighted joints etc....

Have you tried S mode and starting off in 2nd? It’ll soften it up and I enjoy S mode ect gearlock the best especially Highway.

It's not great for driving in heavy stop-and-go traffic, no matter how much you get used to it.

A significant portion, but they'll never admit it. There are lots of problems with the stock truck and a tune can't fix a physical problem with the truck.

In the time some people have spent complaining they could have checked their trans fluid and replaced the CPS.

Some people do have issues with the tune, but there are definitely issues unrelated to the tune that could easily be fixed. For some reason people just refer to acknowledge these issues when theres hundreds of pages documenting said issues.
