The ShiftSense pro might be the answer to your gutless turd problem (and its only $175). It makes a huge difference in the trucks performance.

I can read bro. "similar prices from completely different platforms", indicating they are not even close to a Tacoma. How TF are you going to compare 1/2, 3/4 ton and larger vehicles to a Tacoma, a 1/4 ton truck with a 3.5L, especially when some of the comparisons are diesels? If you think a programmer for a 3.5L 1/4 ton truck should fall in line with 3/4 ton and larger, especially diesel powerplants, I think that's a little

I'm not knocking the product at all, I am really interested in it, but Tacoma's are not even close to the platform you speak of.

I don't see what the size of the vehicle and motor has to do with anything. You're paying for a service and a product that has gone though R&D and time. Doesn't matter, programming is programming. If it takes a lot of work to get it right it's not going to be cheap.

Yes in part, as this is called capitalism. I also compared to a tune I had done on my 2000 ford and others have given more examples. And what is the price point of the others working on the turd gen tune? The bottom line is if its too much for you move on. I am in.

Edit: This is a very complex ECU with many what I will call 3D maps.

Changing gears a bit, I'd also like to see feedback as the tuned trucks hit the trails:

    - Does the tune indirectly affect systems such as Crawl Control, anti skid etc?
    - Is the truck overly "twitchy" when in low range (manual trans mainly)?

Don't get me wrong, I'm still in for any improvement in driveability! Just wondering..

Yes the should be the same. We aren't talking something like engine parts, tires, lifts, etc.

It's an ecu. Truck size doesn't matter. I don't even know how you could think that matters.

I mean that in a very nice way. Please no one report me for being mean.

I will provide the feed back I can. I have not found a use for craw control. I have tried it on steep step ups and downs and is useless in these situations. Tried on loose rock going up hill and still found no advantage. I do like how the auto trans works with the little pedal in LR. This is my first 4x4 with an auto. May be good in sand or mud, but so fare when crawling in rocks unless.

Im order #1813 and just wanted confirmation that my 16 TRD OR manual is fine under the "16 manual" option. Im going to just say screw it and assume that all the shown calibration options are for the V6 2GRFKS.....:notsure:

SR/SR5/TRD/Sport/Limited all of these are OK, as long as it is V6 and manual transmission

As a price reference I use a cobb accessport to tune my BT Mazdaspeed 3. I also do not have to send in datalogs for I use AccessTuner race. I datalog a run, upload it to Excel, over look the values and tune everything from LTFT, STFT, boost, FP, AFR, timing, load tables, throttle tables, VVT tables, wastegate Dynamics, so on and so forth. Im very interested in the tune these guys have to offer and how they go about calibrating...Granted my Tacoma is NA with the pseudo Atkinson cycle. Tuning shouldnt be more difficult compared to the Speed 3 direct injection setup but time will tell......

So what's the difference between the trd auto/manual and the auto? Last time I was on there you had an auto in stock. But mine is a trd off road auto. :fingerscrossed:

TIL that tuning a Miata should cost less than a pick up truck because it is a physically smaller car.

So I ordered the shift sense a few days before this post. Will this time change shift points or will it be strictly engine tuning? @OVTune
