This seems counter intuitive to me but it sounds like, more often than not, guys with oversize tires aren't liking the tip in while stock or one size up tires are liking it. I'm on 32s and like the tip in on 87 Performance.

What do you mean by counter intuitive? I just don’t like it shifting so quickly to 5th and 6th gear especially. Most of my driving is in town and I don’t need a 2nd overdrive until I’m doing at least 60mph and cruising. I’ve driven mostly in the S gears since getting my truck no matter what tune I have always averaged 20-22mpg even ECT on. We all like different likes and it seems every truck drives different.

You said you're on stock tires and like the tip in, right? So what's counter intuitive, to me, is that guys with stock (31s) to one size larger (32s) seem to like the tip in more than guys running 33s or bigger. Seems the opposite would be true, that the larger/heavier tires would soften the tip in and feel less aggressive.

If the tip in on the performance tune is too much, try clearning ecu and tcu learning with techstream FIRST then flash the tune. When i got my cable last week i flashed the tune then cleared the learning immediately after. The tip in was pretty aggressive. I drove it around for a day and then cleared the learning again, then reflashed again and the tip is was perfect! not sure why or how, but its waaaay better now. So give it a try, clear learning first then flash.

Gotcha! Sorry, it’s been a long night as I just got off work. I’ve noticed that too about the different tire sizes.

Due to a snow storm hitting us right now we are unable to get some pending orders out.
We are going as quickly as possible to get everyone updated.
Anyone that had a pending tracking number from earlier, your order is already on the way.

I have been following this thread through all... approximately 43,182 posts. After all of this, I have one question... will 1.05 ever actually be done?

I have been waiting to get it until it was finished with all the kinks worked out, but it seems the changes never stop.

Do you already have an older version of OVtune? If not, then now is a great time to buy it with the tax season discount. The tune is constantly evolving, so there is no reason to wait. You can always get it and then update to a newer version later once one or more of the tweaks catches your interest.

I do not have OVTune currently. I am still running the truck like it came from the factory... like a commoner... except for one tire size larger.

Replace "changes" with "improvements". Seriously though, It will continue to evolve as Mat disects the ECU even further. It seems he has only just scratched the surface in reverse engineering it.

If you buy it now, you get all the new goodness coming down the road too.
