Dyno Jet result is what we can expect to see with 91, slightly more due to additional ignition advance allowance with 91.
What we are focused on now is implementing Ignition Octane learning. (don't freak out on the "learning") We've figured out how to use the Knock correction counters to alter Ignition MBT, so people don't have to flash different tunes to get more power.

04B02 and 04B03 are being worked on. Along with 04B23 (south america).

We are looking into this. seems to only be a problem on 04B30 and not 04B31. It's not really a "problem" the shift tables just need a *slight* adjustment.

So is there any real power gains from 91 over the 87? Should I justify the extra couple dollars on gas?

yes there are real gains over 87. Especially on older ECUs (pre-TSBs), however the gap in total gains are smaller on post-TSB. (that does NOT make pre-TSB better).

The dyno-jet results are with our hybrid octane ignition setup, but with STOCK MBT allowance (which means 87 safe). The truck tested with 93 octane, so you can consider those results similar to what we should see with 91/93 octane. More ignition ( a few degrees ) was definitely possible but not the point. We wanted realistic results so the truck was ran almost 15 times hot. Previous truck test with true-87 you see the gains are considerably less everywhere (results on first page).

If the TSB didn't make a 6whp difference by itself then 23whp @ 6000 would be right in line with the pre-tsb premium octane results.

So everyone is clear > the dyno jet result tune is being developed to be 87 octane safe, but to make best result still requires 91/93 fuel. You'll still make a majority of the low end gains through throttle code, but not top end.

Totally understand if that is confusing. We are just waiting for the test truck to get us the rest of the pics / videos and all that for us to give a in depth explanation of what we did.

Still confused, I’ll just wait for the dyno sheets

Hope to have some answers soon. Mat sounds promising. I do wonder what is so different with our ECU from the rest.

Pretty cool stuff there! No more worrying about being on a 91 tune and only finding 87.

Is there any way to find your ecu id without a Tactrix cable?
    Thanks

Some OBD2 scanners will show you the calibration id.

I'd personally like to know whether or not there's a TSB available that would update our ECUs from 04B30 to 04B31.

    This is awesome, thanks Mat.

@Chipi3s @maybeme I outlined in detail my take on highway dead pedal in post #43034. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-alpha-release.495735/page-2152#post-20036989

I feel like it's closer to 60% than 85%, but regardless it does "feel" like you have to press the pedal way too far.

I will personally attest to the fact that the tsb does change a lot. 1.05b is different on post tsb then pre. Better I would say with better mpg so far. If anyone is on the fence update ur truck to 04! It’s fairly easy and makes life so much easier with Mat’s tunes.

I don't know if its fuel switching from winter to summer fuel, or 1.05 base 91 finally "settling in". My MPG went from about 18 consistently to 20. I have close to thousand miles on 1.05 base, I would think that is far past "settling in".

Only change besides possibly summer blend fuel, I changed my oil recently.

Anyone else using Quik Trip fuel recently see a jump in MPG?

I'm not sure, hence my question with regards to my sudden MPG bump. Surely oil change wouldn't improve my MPG by 2
