    From the SM:

    MONITOR DESCRIPTION
Under closed-loop fuel control, fuel injection volumes that deviate from those estimated by the ECM cause
changes in the long-term fuel trim compensation value. The long-term fuel trim is adjusted when there are
persistent deviations in the short-term fuel trim values. Deviations from the fuel injection volumes estimated by
the ECM also affect the average fuel trim learned value, which is a combination of the average short-term fuel
trim (fuel feedback compensation value) and the average long-term fuel trim (learned value of the air fuel ratio).
If the average fuel trim learned value exceeds the malfunction thresholds, the ECM interprets this as a fault in the
fuel system and stores a DTC.
    Example:
The average fuel trim learning value is +35% or higher, or -35% or less, the ECM interprets this as a fuel system
    malfunction.

@OVTune, I been waiting to register the new flash manager on my new tablet for about two weeks now. I sent my information with my system ID to the Zendesk address about 3 times. I know you are busy but is there any way you can check my status. I just want to register the software so I can use the new FM. Thanks for you time.

Having dead space at the top of the curve makes sense - if you're getting to 100% twice as fast, then the second half of the pedal throw won't do anything. But dead space at the bottom seems weird. Shouldn't the request curve start from zero and simply have a steeper slope, instead of skipping the first degree or two of pedal movement and then catching up? Or is my foot just getting fooled by how steep the rise is in those first few degrees, and it really is starting from zero?

BTW, I'm pretty sure I rode a bike once with a quick twist throttle, but it was a long time ago, and I don't remember if it had any weird slack or lag in it. I just remember it taking a very light touch if I didn't want to wind up looking at the sky unexpectedly. :)

New to the Forum. Had my first Tacoma for around 6 months, Love it! Trying to get cought up on this MASSIVE thread. Have read 150-250 of the last pages. Question, has anyone used a laptop to OV Tune their Tacoma and the laptop becomes unusable. Does it cost more money to move to a new laptop with OVTune?

I haven't heard of anyone "crashing" their laptop from tuning. It doesn't cost anything to switch to a new laptop if the need arises just don't be doing it all the time. Mat said switching laptops a couple times is reasonable but any more than that.....

You just email Mat and register the new laptop. No big deal as long as you aren’t switching hardware excessively

@OVTune Just flashed to 04B04 from 04B03 ( thanks to @KanPanic ) and new FM version of 1.05 87 Base last week. Just got back from a 700 mile high altitude trip - Denver to Durango and back (6000 ft base over 11,000 + ft max to 6500 destination). Took different routes down and back. Averaged 23 mpg down using S mode. Lots of high elevation passes along US 285. Drove great. Locked it down to 5th except in long flat sections (still 6500 + elevation). Drove D mode back except Wolf Creek Pass where I used S mode - Drove great. Pulled Eisenhower Pass (6% grade) easy - 5th gear at 65 mph and 3500 rpm with no issues - total control and power. Averaged 24 mpg. No way this truck would preform like this without your efforts. Thanks! Looking forward to future revisions and improvements!

Thanks for the reply. Glad to know. I saw someone asked and was confirmed the "ASUS VivoBook E203MA" works. Does anyone have any other confirmed new laptops (small/affordable) that would be durable and have better specs? Also I saw in the pages on this thread Mat is working on getting a hand held ( I know, ready when he knows). Does anyone know if the hand held could be purchased separate /stand alone?

Thank you all and thank you for future help!

I was waiting on handhelds, but couldn’t pass up this deal! Thanks Tim for a great deal. I already downloaded FM and tunes on my laptop and got everything ready to go. (Was very easy, new instructions are simple)
@OVTune, I sent a request to you via zendesk email to pay for my registration. Can’t wait!

I hear you! I have 33” E rated tires and 3” lift (2016 TRD Sport Auto) and I’m happy to get 16mpg. I’m usually in the 14-15mpg range per tank. I’m hoping the tune will atleast get me a tad better. We shall see. On 04B04 until I get my registration key.
What kind of mileage are you getting?

I’m running just standard ply (4 I think) 265/70/17 Falken AT3’s and get about 18-19 on the freeway (16-17 around town) if a drive like an adult. I do have sliders, bumper, winch, full 2.5 suspension with aftermarket leafs and a softopper with some gear though. Sure miss the good old days driving through Wyoming getting 20-25mpg on stock setup...damn mod disease caught up to me, but I’m cured now :D

Thanks. No spacers. I have the GTS Dobinson’s suspension. I bought it from @eevaldes (Eric) at Mainline Overland. I got the Medium load springs for 2.75” in front. And extended shocks in rear with tapered blocks. $740 shipped in 4 days.
