freeway makes all the difference, this truck just kicks back and relaxes when you are cruising freeway speeds. The tune feels balanced. Any bigger tires than 265/70/17 and I can see that the base tune may not feel optimal

93GL....fwy at 70-80mph getting 20.2mpg; 17.5-18 in town. I’m on second tank of 93. GL in hilly fwy driving is great. 5th on flats and 4th uphill at 70-75. Love my truck now. Keeps getting better as 93 settles..I don’t drive a lot of miles like a lot of you so don’t really care about mpg.

Has anyone heard of an ETA on the performance and gear lock tunes with the tip in mellowed out? Maybe I'll flash back to a performance tune now that the streets are drying up. On snow and ice it was a mess with the touchy throttle.

What’s the latest news on factory tuned 2GR-TKS with standard transmission? Is it ok? Obvious discrepancy with 3.5l hp for Camry versus Tacoma. Same motor in both; right? Will I need to go to tuner after I purchase to get engine running right? Looking at ordering new 2019 Tacoma.

Ok that worked! I did the VIM select for the tactrix cable.

I couldn’t find the mvci firmware update on my desktop per the instructions. Is that something that needs to be done?

The difference is the Camry is tuned go up to 7K rpm, that and a couple other tune changes is where it gets it's higher HP from.

OVtune has all that and more.

No you don't need MVCI. Not sure what that is. Might be drivers for an ODB cable Toyota uses?

Because I’m doing over 40,000 miles a year.

Yes I need a truck. No I’m not driving a car instead. Can’t haul things with a car.

Don’t need it. It’s for a different cable (the cheap Chinese one)

Sorry everyone. I feel pretty useless right now. I just want to update this eco so I can take advantage of the performance tunes!

Lol who’s butthurt? More like different schools of thought. Why is looking to improve the trucks all-around performance a bad thing? Just because it’s a $30k truck doesn’t mean we can’t pursue better performance in all categories. If anything, after “heavily” modifying a truck, it should be a no-brainer to try and get the truck back to stock-like capabilities. Including stock like mpg. For my specific scenario, I like both tunes. But when one is advertised as an “mpg” tune and one is a “performance” tune, it raises questions when the “mpg” tune is getting worse mpg than stock. I’ll wait until it settles before changing anything, as stated. The gains from the performance tune aren’t as valuable to me as the potential gains from the mpg/base tune. Unless it doesn’t settle in for me like I’m hoping it would. I would prefer to have the benefits of the base tune.

Also it’s 2019 man, $30k for a truck doesn’t put anyone in a category of “too much money to justify worrying about mpgs”. I guarantee you there are guys rolling around in brand new F350’s wanting to do the same thing.
