I just want to say that the amount of hard work you're pouring into making this truck live up to its potential is GREATLY appreciated!!
There will be a lot of time and code invested into this MASSIVE code patch. If you guys have any recommendations of what you want added. Please feel free to throw out ideas and we will see what is feasible.
Heck yes, if you could prevent these trucks from lugging along in the 1100 rpm range that would be a dream come true - i vote the only time these engines should be at 1100 rpm is at a cold idle or coasting down hill :broccoli:

I remember last time when people said we shouldn't have to drive at 2000 rpm and wanted it lower. lol I can only make improvements I can't change everything

@rdpoe Is Bootcamp working okay for you with the OVTune software? I have been trying to get it to work on a Windows 7 partition on my Macbook. With my truck turned on and the Tactrix device connected to a USB 2.0 port, the Identify button (and all the buttons) in the Toyflash GUI remain un-clickable. The next thing I plan to try is to connect with a dongle that Mat is shipping out to me.

Already mentioned, and not a priority for me, but will sell additional tunes:
Diff lock in 4hi and 2hi (keep other engagement limits in place, but remove need for 4lo, keep ABS disabled with locker)

If you figured out how to do 2Lo in the ECU, that would be pretty sweet too. That is going to be way more difficult that the Diff Lock in 4hi and 2hi...But really useful.

[Edit, BTW both of these above are inside the 4WD ECU I am pretty sure... don't know if you can edit that]

What I want:
Reduce the gain on Cruise Control. (I don't know how it is implemented, but it feels like the Gain, the P portion of a PID controller has the gain way too high on this truck). I am fine if it looses a few miles and hour on a hill and opens the throttle less. Feels like this truck is set to 100% throttle/1mph gain or something insane (without actually trying to log it). Maybe that is necessary because of adaptive cruise control stuff... but I would love to have that gain turned down to more like 20% throttle/1mph or something. A lower proportional gain and mabye just a little integral gain, but I assume the ECU doesnt have that logic built-in.

It worked for me. I had a bit of an issue with order of operations (my error).

I had trouble getting the laptop to recognize the truck but I found this was the correct sequence:

1. Plug in device to computer and truck
2. Turn on truck (2x pushes of button until it says “ignition on”
3. Do your thing

Make sure you go through the menus and update all the software and install drivers. I don’t have the computer in front of me to reference exactly what it looks like.

I think “update software” is under the first menu at the top and “install drivers” is under the second menu at the too

Forgot to say, I think windows 7 works but I’m not 100% sure. I used windows 10 on my bootcamp install.

Hopefully someone else can chime in

You did the right thing with forking development into base/mpg and performance. That way, you have a better chance of pleasing the folks who like to pretend a truck is a sports car without losing the folks who just want drivable efficiency.

Why do so many people want a locker in 4-hi?

I don't, but I tried figuring it out after I finished work on 2Lo mod. (which on the other hand is eminently useful.)
Gave up on an electromechanical locker mod. Somebody could build a microcontroller based mod if they wanted. I did learn enough to allow for reasonable care and feeding of OR/Pro diff lock installed in a SR/SR5/Limited/Sport using a purely electromechanical solution, which was kinda cool, but again not something I personally need...

(That is why I said 'not a priority for me', I would likely never turn it on myself)... But I will guarantee it will sell tunes, so people can blow up their diff...

I am very happy with the 04B04 91 base tune.

A tune that adapt to 87, 89, 91, 93 "on the fly" would be very useful, and help Mat eliminate having separate octane tune files.

I don’t think people understand that a locker at high speeds isn’t good and dangerous which is why the one they put in trophy trucks is more of a hybrid locker/posi...also trophy trucks are 2WD because 4wd is dangerous at high speeds (imagine hitting a bump at 80 mph, or a jump for that matter, landing and then having the front wheels pull you right off the road in an instant)...and can break stuff really fast

So, did I miss it or did OVTune 3.0 drop? Pics of the new family member?

I have it - but I am not running GearLock tune. Just 1.05 87 Base. Works fine when you want a little higher rpm shift. Sometime I just use the S mode and no SSPro - just depends on what I am towing and the grade of the road.

The cruise control droop being adjusted would be the tits. The adaptive cruise when you get out behind a slow car floors the truck... ends up being a pain. This is my one main AT complaint.

??? Good question. I think 3.0 is still in the production mode going through the fine tuning and growth curve. We need a poll on what 3.0 will be - manual or automatic.

Is there future plans for OVTune to have the ability to recal the system to non-stock tire sizes so that the speedo and such are correct? Or is that not even in the realm of possibility?
