Lol, I had the brake/gas pedal error and "visit dealer" message while flashing. That made me a bit nervous to say the least!

 

I'm still feeling some shudders as well. Is it around 1500 RPM? I'm thinking I should flash back to stock and go to Toyota for 03 then add the OVTune back..

Dongle didn't arrive today, obviously so with Irma about to own us.

Three laptops later I was finally able to download the driver's without error. Have no idea if this is being done right. Still curious how it can't be done similar to EFI live and diesel trucks, just plug and go in 5 min.

 

The problem is partially due to the table size. There isn't a lot of room to extend resolution to make the sweep more gradual.

I think someone should make a quick YouTube vid showing the upload process, might make it easier for people less computer literate.

 

It's not the tune that causing it. He said he converts 02 to 03 or something.

Anyways, yeah it's around 1500. I felt it for a while and it's more noticeable now that he adjusted timing.

So I'm going to go ahead and change it to the new hotness.

Yeah it's real simple y'all. I think I've done mine like 7-8 times!

 

Yeah shutters around that 1000 to 1500 are still there. Like the other tunes and stock, it seems to present itself around 25 to 50 miles after flashing for me.

It's pretty minor though...don't think Mat needs to rush after a fix.

Minor shudders but what are the long term effects of them? I'm not blaming the tune for causing these issues. I have a huge lack of faith in Toyota in regards to the software on this truck. This is NOT the vehicle to test something so complex on, I'm sure OV will figure it out.

 

Where else could it be coming from?

 

I had a telephone argument with corporate Toyota about this issue, my point was long term damage and their response was "you have a 50k mile powertrain warranty." This was about the CPS being the issue, the recall didn't solve the problem.

 

Combination of timing and load conditions because not many vehicles lacking the low end torque would keep it in gear at 1500rpms with any amount of load at all (would be my guess)

My wife's last two recent vehicles only coast at that rpm. You give it even the slightest bit of throttle and it's almost like it knows what you're about to do and downshifts before you even realized you've given it any gas at all.
