GOOD NEWS!!! Got my kit today and uploaded it to the truck... when it was idling on 91 performance it was a lot smoother after the 2 min warm up. look forward to seeing how it drives and am excited. Thanks ovtune for everything and doing this for all of us.

91 Performance is fun. I love it and have got used to the tip in while driving in stop and go traffic. ECT mode + that tune is crazy though. It felt like I was going to crash my truck into something since it was so herky jerky and quick to move lol.

Who cares, apples to oranges comparison! Turbo engine compared to non turbo? Just my two cents but I would bet that the rest of the truck isn't up to the taco. Time will tell!

Honestly I think it would have been quicker, easier and more effective for you to develop a standalone engine management system and just toss the Toyota ECU in the garbage.

Switching back to TRD tune on my S/C 2nd GEN. I have an OVTune Handheld Tuner that you can use to manage tunes and check codes if anybody is interested. No licensing fee to transfer but Mat @OVTune can confirm that it will work for 3rd as well as 2nd GEN.

It is the handheld tuner with touchscreen LCD and OBD cable.

How big is the difference between 91 and 93 perf?

I was hoping to go straight to 93 since they don't sell 91 in Ga but I still have 1/4 of 87 in the tank.. Math says it will be around 91 after it's all topped up.

Might have to take a roadtrip since I don't have the registration key yet either way.

So, three days ago I was thinking “it’s been about 500 miles and I’m super happy with how the ECU and transmission have adapted and how logical the shifting seems.”

Then I filled up with gas (Shell from the same station) and lowered my tires 2psi and it’s acting like a maniac again.

Is this normal and will it re-learn? It was driving me nuts on my commute the last two days

Is downshifting in s mode different in 87base and 87performance?
I feel like in performance the rev matching is better?

Why not charge a fee for major updates? I would be willing to pay $100 each time a tune is overhauled. Seems like a perfectly reasonable way of doing business, its your development time, and time is money. Seems unfair that each time a major update is released for free a bunch of wankers complain they dont get paid to use it.

Had to switch to stock tune for recall and back to 87 performance but it doesn’t seem as punchy as it was before. Should I reset learning values with techstream?

Technically it's still in development and not finished. That would also be unfair to the early adopters who have to pay $100 for each "major revision" and then when the new cusomers buy in, they get list price while those of us who invested in the company early on have to pay a few hundred more.

All of this work also directly influences the turbo setup as well which will be additional income for Matt on top of the tune.
