If you're using ECT in D

Sounds like you have a gearlock tune. A perf tune + gearlock with ECT on at freeway speed in 6th gear will never downshift from 6th with throttle input whether you are in D or S. With ECT on, if your get your rpm down to around 1100 or less, the trans will protectively put you into 1st gear whether in D or S. Or you can switch from D to S and do the downshifts manually.

 

im waiting for it to drop, then il load it and i have a 20 mile trip home from my girlfriends house, soo ill see whats up then.

There’s a challenge there that I see. Right now, you really have no idea what tune you’re on except by remembering what you last flashed. With ECT ‘cycling through’ them, you could forget which you’re on. With crawl control, you can at least look up and figure it out.
Perhaps with ect, it could default back to your current tune with a power cycle?

Mat, earlier you said you were looking at activating gear lock by just flipping shifter to S-mode. Have you now determined this to be not possible?

 

Will climate control "knob" do the job?

I have 33s and 4.88 gears and its fine but if you are looking for highway mpg then its not there. I actually improved my city mpg so it evened things out. My mpg is best in morning traffic going 50mph, get over 20, on a weekend commute going 65 with no traffic i usually end up with 17 to 18mpg.

Your 91 performace + gear lock+soft tip on tuesday+full tip on Friday tune may interfere with limbaugh show... and get crazy at the time, hence more complains here. .
