    Driven plenty of manual cars, this rev hang is ridiculous.
    I have no problem letting off the gas earlier before a shift, honestly its the only way the truck drives smooth. Honestly the problem is the waiting the revs to match during a shift to engage to the next gear. Slower shifts = slower acceleration.
    Rev hangs can be altered, I've seen in in other tunes on other vehicles. If the M/T is a much simpler to tune as OVTune states, why pay the same price as the auto, especially when you aren't fixing the main problem with the M/T? I'm sure OVtune will get it done, I just wanted to see if he was going to even continue with it, because he removed the "rev hang (testing)" from his original post.

    To each his own... and I get that you want everything possible out of this tune for $765... but you should add two words to your last sentence - "to me".

    I guess you'll never know how much better these trucks drive with 1.02 if the rev hang doesn't get fixed then.. and that's really too bad because it's literally night and day.

    Not trying to be a white knight for OVTune, or justify my purchase. I just think you're missing out and that's the truth.

    The rev hang is the main problem? Really?

    Are you saying you're happy with the ridiculous OEM throttle lag? No way dude, not buying it.

    I was sort-of trying to point this out, but really it's pretty obvious his mind is made up.

    Yeah man, I guess I kinda got trolled into saying something. I see exactly what he's trying to do, and I don't want others to think the tune is shit from his posts.

    Anyway, none of my business. Out.

    I'm sure if OP can do anything about the rev hang he will. He's been trying his best to fix as many issues as he can. We've thrown everything at him and has never complained. His only request has been to please be patient....:)

    I can't think of a situation that the rev hang bothered me.

    I'm still stuttering. Actually maybe I will call it what it really is. Misfires all over the place. I'm going to pick up a new crank sensor asap, and if that doesn't fix it I'll see if @OVTune can make it any better. After that she's going back where she came from. Love the truck for it's versatility, the manual, the looks, basically everything. But the engine SUCKS so far. I just can't drive it every day with how it performs, even with the extra power thanks to the tune. Maybe if it was a 4 spd trans, but 5th and 6th as overdrive hwy cruising gears are seriously painful with all the misfires. I can't think of any manufacturers with this shitty of engine performance. Even my cammed up M3 on standalone drives better than this lol.

    If I had a customer bring this to me I'd be head first looking for problems, it's so weird.

    So here's my initial review of 1.02 (for M/T pilots):

    1. Ridiculous OEM throttle lag is a thing of the past. You touch the gas, the engine reacts. You can consistently rev match for your downshifts now, as it should be. No weird lag when you get on it after an upshift either;

    2. Torque in the low end is noticeably better. It's still not a stump puller, but the pull from 1500 on up feels easy in comparison to OEM;

    3. Mid - top end is fun, let it eat and it'll put a smile on your face (for a mid size truck). Power delivery is much more linear, but you can still feel a few "kicks" as the VVT does it thing;

    4. Fuel economy is almost unchanged in my case, although I'll have to test some more to be sure. My mileage run today (Peggy's cove N.S. loop - 70km) ended with a 8.3l/100km average. The best I've ever done is 8.2l/100km, and that was with factory tires and no tonneau. I used the truck's computed values both times (yeah yeah hand calculated / fuelly - I know);

    5. Rev hang is still present, and yes it's very annoying if you wind it up. Waiting for the RPMs to drop for a clean upshift is still a thing, although you can mitigate it if you smoothly get out of the throttle a bit (maybe 1/2 second) before pushing the clutch in;

    6. Idle seems to be smoother after the flash, but take this one with a grain of salt - I've had it worsen over time after a "reset" (battery disconnect). I hope it stays the way it is, cause it's smooth now;

    Well that's it for now, I've put about 200km on her since flashing and so far I'm impressed. I guess you have to balance that against how absolutely dismal that OEM tune was though lol.

    One more thing about throttle response - On my mileage loop today I noticed something odd but familiar, in that I could induce drivetrain lash with very small pedal movements in 5th/6th. I don't recall the truck doing that before.

    Sorry to hear that man, I tried mashing it in 6th at 100km/hr (2100 RPM approx) on the 103 today, on one of the larger hills. It didn't stutter, just pulled it's way up... but damn those pedal/steering wheel vibes were there!

    I don't want to imply that your CKP is the cause, but I did replace mine with a "98" a while ago.

    Edit: Full disclosure, I had pretty bad stuttering when I first bought the truck and was using 87 with horse piss (ethanol) fuel. If I pulled a hill at anything under about 1800 RPM (moderate load) it would do it every time. E0 91 Octane smoothed that out quite noticeably for me. I didn't really try doing that yet with the tune, but I will - yeah I know it's not really a good idea to lug the thing.

    Throttle lag doesn't bother me as much as that rev hang. Well since it was regeared it doesn't bother me as much. Also I run the truck without traction control on, because it doesn't mess with my throttle. To each his own. I'm still hoping ovtune can get it done.

    Agreed, it would be a nice touch for sure if he can do it.

    If/when a M/T gets on the dyno, myself and a few others have asked for changes to decel fuel cutoff functionality - to try and get more consistent engine braking when going slow off road. Mat thought this might be doable by lowering the fuel cut in RPM to a value closer to idle, but again no promises. This one is just a "nice to have". Right now the fuel comes back on at around 1300RPM, which is not ideal lol.

    I think having increased torque and hp alone is worth purchase price. Rev hang doesn't bother me that much. just delay the shift problem solved.

    Have you considered that rev hang may be outside of the scope of tuning as the flywheel mounted is likely quite heavy?

    I think rev hang is the new hotness for emissions. Built into the ECU.
