The numbers the truck gives you are bullshit. Actually calculate the mpg and I'd wager you'll find it much lower.

I’ve done the math on a trip and actually got better mpg than what the truck said.

Anyone running gear lock tune and have the truck not shift while it’s floored?
Even though the next year has been selected?
Only way to make it shift is to let off the throttle?

I don't know what you call much lower, but on the per tank basis the computer consistently reports 0.5mpg too high. That's good enough for me, but significant enough that I try to remember it when calculating range to go in my head since I usually refuel well after the light comes on.

I’ve had the MFD MPG readout be +/- 2-3 mpg. Sometimes it’s spot on, other times it’s off quite a bit.

My truck fluctuates .1-.2 mpg under from calculated. It is the most accurate vehicle I have ever owned, so it probably did a little better.

This number came up right after filling the tank last month. This is stock without the tune. I’ve been wanting to read the owners manual so I can understand this option in the display better.

You have to simulate a clutch scenario, so yes, def need to let off the throttle when changing gears. It operates like a manual transmission.

But how do you calculate if your spedo/tac is off? I’m on 33s so the actual mileage is incorrect lol.

Yep, Texas bites in this regard. My commutes at 82-85mph really sucks the tank dry. I'm either blasting down the highway, or stop-n-go suburbs. I'm probably glad to be averaging slightly over 18mpg.

I bomb down the road at 85 in 6th all day long now. Overpasses and inclines might push me to slip the TQ or drop to 5th. But yeah, Texas inclines ain't so bad.

You divide the new tire size over the stock tire size and multiply by the difference.

My old tires were 30.5" and my new ones 31.6" so the difference is about 1.036.

Multiply your mpg by that # and that gets you the actual #.

In my case as rule of Thumb, about every 10 mpg I get, it's about .4 mpg higher.

If you calc by hand then you also x the final result by that # you got.
