I wouldnt go 5.29's unless you plan on running 35's or bigger. I have Cooper stt Maxx 285/75/17's a true 34" tire running 4.88's and tune its fun to drive. Just switched to 87 base from 87 performance and a huge difference in power loss and throttle tip in. I will be going back to 87 Performance when i return from trip to New Mexico!

Yeah I heard that too but then was told if I’m adding weight (coming this year) and planning on 35s in the future, just go 5.29s. I’m a noob to regearing so just getting more info as I go.

Hoping the tire and gear specific tunes add that little extra all around drive ability or i may jump up to 5.29's. I got a heavy ass truck and it's constantly getting heavier!

I am currently running 1.05 91 Performance. I am going to flash to 91 Base. Do I need to "clear the memory" or "clear learned values" during this process?

    Thanks! :)

Not necessary, but I would if you have techstream available. This was my path and I'm really happy with 91 base.

    Stock (for now)
Just flashed for the first time with 87 base. It seems to shift and be a lot more responsive. I only have about 20 miles on it so I know it will settle in. I’m running stock wheels and tires and I have an ECT all the time module. Does anyone else that is running all stock with an ECT module run the 87 performance? If so, how do you like the combination compared to 87 base with ECT module?

This is why I am doing 5.29’s. Should be done in a week or so.

On 33” tires the difference between 4.88’s and 5.29’s is only 300 rpm at highway speeds. That’s why I did 5.29’s and can upgrade later on etc.

Dropped off my truck at the dealer this morning for the

(SPECIAL SERVICE CAMPAIGN K0B (Remedy Notice) - Certain 2018 - 2019 Model Year Tacoma and Tundra - Millimeter Wave Radar Sensor)

w/ the truck tuned on 91 base. Hopefully I get it back and nothing is different, the guy said they reprogram the radar sensor so that through me off a little but I emailed @OVTune and Mat said it doesn’t affect the ECU:)
